no clue. I go to work, but don’t see many people. My area though is a fucking hot bed right now. Monday or Tuesday.
I went yesterday for the first time since February. I’ve been watching the app for reservations and figured out at about 3pm there are only about 20 people in a 10,000 sq ft gym. So I spoke to my doctor about it and she agreed that with everyone wearing masks ( they are) that it should be relatively safe based on tinge size of the gym and being able to social distance. I cleaned the fuck out of everything before and after I got done and came home and striped down like I used to do after work. Honestly felt more safe at the gym than I did at my old job.
Drove from NV to the Bay Area last Sunday and the Tahoe area had traffic like you'd see on Cape Cod for the 4th of July or Labor Day. Like it was madness
Hopefully you get your results faster than that. We got tested Friday and were told to expect results in 3 to 4 days. Woke up this morning to an email saying our results were ready.
very impressive to tie in almost every right wing conspiracy theory to this only thing missing was if they had said “and where is the moderna lab located? that’s right you guessed it: comet ping pong”
Every one of these has a similar cadence and uses the same terminology. It seems like there's a specific format for conspiracy theory social media posts. Like writing a haiku for the batshit crazy.
Driving to Jackson Hole mid August but we’re just staying in our cabin and picking up to go food. We’ll have been quarantined for over 3 weeks at that point (coming from Nashville). We’re looking at moving up there.
An internal Trump administration briefing document prepared by the Federal Emergency Management Agency and obtained Friday by The Washington Post counted 453,659 new infections in the past week. Alaska is in trouble. And Hawaii, Missouri, Montana and Oklahoma. Those are the five states, as of Friday, with the highest percentage increase in the seven-day average of new cases, according to a Post analysis of nationwide health data. “The dominoes are falling now,” said David Rubin, director of the PolicyLab at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, which has produced a model showing where the virus is likely to spread over the next four weeks. His team sees ominous trends in big cities, including Baltimore, Chicago, Detroit, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Louisville, Philadelphia, St. Louis and Washington, with Boston and New York not far behind. And Rubin warns that the expected influx of students into college towns at the end of this month will be another epidemiological shock. Hurry up and do it. Look at Wilson
I can't tell if I'm walking into a "I live in Hollywood" joke or not here. But no, just odd vacations due to Covid and not being able to open anything.
I mean, it's not. There isn't a "wave two" unless you more or less get through wave one. This is all a continuation. We are so unbelievably screwed.
Something I’ve never thought about. My wife was explaining to me how much not having sports makes her job shitty. She said with girls it’s easy to BS and make small talk. With guys it’s always awkward. Before she could bring up the team on their hat/shirt/etc and use her basic knowledge of sports to get common ground. and that’s why she suggested people are fighting more than normal. Guys are used to ribbing each other about their sports teams and talking about players on other teams. Now everything is black or white, R v D, pro mask v fuck mask, etc. can’t tell if she’s making sense or if it’s the first beer I’ve had in a 10+ days thinking for me.
Could argue that's a good thing that people are getting to the heart of the matter and not fighting proxy wars over sports
She actually makes a good point. Sports are a common ground for a lot of people. It’s an escape from reality for a lot of people as well.
You can air shit out, but If noone is listening what’s the point? You need open minds to make progress.
i found some rentals that were a good price (comparable to nowadays Nashville) but yeah it’s gonna be a saving project for sure
I have a friend who’s parents live in Jackson hole and they have court side season tix to the heat , so I know the houses have to be crazy expensive.
You have to marvel at the success of the Reagan/Limbaugh/Fox brainwashing project over the last 40 years.
read a huge article about historical sportsmanship being societal pressure release valves for tension that show itself in more benign ways but keep countries/states/communities with some link but agree with later posts that it's basically a mechanism for negative peace and obstacle for progress especially in broken democracies like ours
my (66 year old) mother still believes Democrats only want to give away their “hard earned money” to people who “don’t want to work”
you might have to deal with your friend Carl being a moron if his stupidity is hurting you directly/that you know about it vs spending your whole life talking about nothing of import
Distractions being taken away, including the normal bs in people’s personal lives is definitely contributing. But looking at the bold there, a big problem is we have a lot of fucking stupid people.
