It's all a moot discussion imo. We play in a smart, rich conference. The odds of football happening are slim. First sign of an outbreak, I think they'll shut 'er down.
We had two couples over for my birthday a few weeks ago for some smoked pig and I made some short dang cut off jorts. Had a different family over tonight for some yard beers and donned them again. Then I just ran to the pizza place nearby to grab a pint of ice cream as I was bejorted. Was feelin cute. I think I’ve gone full cutoff jortsman.
Kros Strain is my favorite NE brewery right now. Haven't tried that one but Fairy Nectar may be the goat IPA (and I'm not an IPA guy) and their Hopstreaker is also fucking delicious. There may not be a worse price to quality ratio out there than coldstone. Maybe Buffalo wild wings?
You know what doesn't get discussed enough? John Adams was a piece of shit. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
Wife got an ice cream attachment/bowl for the mixer and has been killing the game ever since. She has made a bunch of different flavors: sweet corn (so good), strawberry, cinnamon toast crunch, and fruity pebbles.
Yes. Like Tom (RIP) intended. There is a little vanilla added to it as well, but it's like a vanilla ice cream just slightly sweeter and with a subtle corn flavor.
I got some busch light 16 ouncers for today. That extra 4 oz in each can is really gonna come in handy.
ok, ok, ok - by all accounts he was a pretty good and honest dude. The opposite of a PoS in many regards. That was more hyperbole. But the Alien and Sedition acts were pretty unconstitutional and despotic, and he's pretty anti-women's suffrage, and kind of a little weak bitch when it came to foreign policy and even within his own party. Was super strongly anti-slavery and was a very reasonable and rational guy by all accounts, but really just got his shit pushed in constantly politically. Played a role in a lot of major founding considerations and had a major role in the constitution and independence of the nation, and then basically shit the bed for the majority of his presidency IMO. Pros: Humble farmer Intelligent nerd Anti-slavery advocate before it was cool Less of a banty than Jefferson Cons: Pretty brutal and demanding father Represented the British soldiers(!!!) in the trial of the Boston Massacre Alien and Sedition Acts Anti-women suffrage Pretty weak little bitch Believed monarchy was better than elected presidency Takehome: Super underrated founding father, pretty mediocre to below average president. "Piece of Shit" isn't factual, but I was just reading a paragraph in this book and needed to post about it John Adams: The Pulitzer Prize-Winning Biography Kindle Edition by David McCullough Also really good but long book if you like history.
Might have to rewatch the John Adams HBO miniseries. I think I watched it like 10 years ago but don’t really remember it.
Can you get any of these if you’re out of state? When I was back in Nebraska a couple years ago I tried a few local IPAs and they were excellent.
She was joking but when I'm down there for games I happily pay the parking ticket. Their tickets are only $10 which beats the hell out of paying at minimum $20 for public lot parking, university lot parking, garage parking, or some north bottoms yard.
Yeah that's the other thing. It's $10 if they ticket you. Half the time you can be parked on a metered spot all day without paying and still no ticket.
Probably just have to search their website to see if they distribute elsewhere. Probably depends on the brewery. I know NE Brewing Company ships to a lot of random states + even international.
Speaking of Nebraska booze anyone had Brickway’s Honest American Whiskey? Real real solid. Especially for being distilled in Nebraska.
John Cook shares what will 'probably happen' with Nebraska's volleyball schedule https://omaha.com/sports/college/hu...cle_a20ee295-db66-5646-8249-9f06b89cb4c4.html Cliffs -First matches to begin on Sept. 9 or 11 -20 match season -No traditional home/away matchups for conference. Instead, teams would still play each other twice but both matches would take place at one of the teams home court on back to back days.
Sounds about right. Meanwhile our home matches against Iowa, Michigan, Northwestern, and Indiana should be comfortable W's for the ladies.
Anyone have an opinion/suggestion on a somewhat cheap desktop computer? Just found out I’ll be WFH until at least early 2021, so finally figure I should buck up and get a better setup than my current one which is a laptop + second monitor. Won’t have much use for it if/when I ever go back to working in an office which is why I’m hesitant to spend like 1200 bucks.
I’m just looking for some kind of desktop that can support 2 monitors. I think it will just feel more like a work setup, and also that way I don’t have to unplug my laptop every night/morning when I want to use it for personal use. I’m struggling with staying focused while WFH, so grasping at any resolution possible. Sucks being stuck in a spare/empty bedroom all day.
check newegg. Regular ol' non-gaming desktops can be had fairly cheap. How much you looking to spend?
Honestly not sure what’s realistic, but I figured I’d try to keep it under 500 bucks. Like I said above, I’m WFH until at least 2021 but a lot of people think we’ll be WFH forever (at least part time). So basically want to get something that holds up, but in reality all I need it to do is turn on and connect to the internet and support VPN. I currently use a laptop I got for like 189 a couple years ago, because until now I’ve never needed a CPU at home.
I use my MacBook with another monitor, and then just a wireless keyboard/mouse. Only issue I’m running into is cell service and a slow VPN due to shitty rural SW Iowa
This may be the answer, I think the biggest thing I need is two full size monitors. Right now the monitor + laptop screen isn’t cutting it, but I don’t have an additional port to get that 2nd external monitor. I guess only possible issue would be the fact space is limited on my “desk”
My desk is pretty small too but the monitors are just right next to each other and I hung the tv on the wall. Having the ability to have 4 screens is unnecessary and ridiculous but super neat. Get a good wireless mouse, keyboard, and desk chair and you’ll have a much better wfh experience
