The brown snake eagle preys almost exclusively on snakes and have become naturally tolerant of their venom. The black mama's coils proved too strong in this case, likely starting the course for the eagles doom, only to have the leapord (looking for a free meal) finish the course by snapping the eagle's neck. The eagle was likely disoriented and dazed from the lack of oxygen when it tried to escape.
Man, how heartless would you have to be to shove that seal back to the orcas? Little dude even has the puppy dog eyes and everything
Last night heard some scrabbling on the fence outside the downstairs bathroom window. Quickly took off the screen and pointed a flashlight outside, saw six (!) raccoons at the end of the fence, one mama and five little ones. So I went out and gave them a bowl of dog food
We used to have a family living in the tree behind our back yard. I've missed having raccoons around. Fun little creatures Not like skunks, whom I will kill on sight
With our lousy soil and marine layer, the only things that grow well are lavender and cypress trees. We do have some jalapeno plants in a planter box in the back yard; the raccoons have left them alone so far.
They came back tonight. Mama came down out of the tree out front as soon as she saw me with the bowl of dog food.
