(original post)If big ten cancels the season, which conference let’s us in? I could definitely see Ohio State finding a one-year playing option. I don't think Ohio State has any interest in canceling this season
It’s incredible seeing all the people responding telling Pat that he won’t be necessary if there’s no season as if he doesn’t know that. Or that he’s going to be so happy when they cancel. Amazing people think that someone who’s job is to report on sports are actively rooting for sports to be cancelled
Also, whoever said the Big 12 is the wildcard is totally right. I think the SEC would cancel before the Big 12 does. They truly don’t give a shit.
the sports media takes on "coronabros" and its trickle down to normal people thinking reporters are rooting for the virus (because how dare they accurately point out these plans are likely to fail) has been awful to watch play out. still people genuinely whining about the left wing sports media/sports haters/etc. did vacate a bunch of posters from this thread though
Does anyone think professional athletes don't understand there are other people trying to take their job? Pretty dumb, even for him.
ahhh the guy who thought he should get the fsu job even tho he’s never even been a college assistant lecturing people for thinking they’re bigger than the game
this is the Barrett Sallee school of thought hes been a pretty big piece of shit during this pandemic
So from my MAC sources, this was not a unanimous decision. Heavily pushed by bankrupt Akron and NIU there might be a group that goes yolo here (Miami and the Mich schools) and still plays in the fall with whatever schedule they can create. Some really pissed off AD’s right now- not every school in the MAC is poor
I don’t even know who they’d play at this point. Without Power 5 guarantee games, where’s the revenue coming from?
school is bankrupt, Akron won’t exist in a year. It’s going to merge with Kent St and Cleveland State to form a large 3 school commuter and trade oriented university
First the Akron Zips ruin Scott Frost, now they ruin CFB as a whole. Have they no shame? Oh wait, they hired a Bowden...
2 things... Yes a journalist should be proud of accurate honest reporting. Those guys should continue to have a future in the industry. These idiots like Kanell should be the ones deplatformed. Secondly if the people like Kanell had accurately reported the gravity of the situation, more people would have been wearing masks and observing social distancing and maybe there would have been a season
i would like to amend a previous statement. seeing clay’s meltdown and unhinged whining over the mere suggestion of the imminent season cancellation has won me over. i am rooting for the season to be cancelled just with the hopes that that loser ends it
Personally I'm fucking mad as shit. It didn't take a genius to see this coming on our trajectory. Meanwhile we get to watch every other fucking peer country have sports. It's infuriating
it was the loud minority of people who dismissed the virus, spinning the numbers, and whining to get back to normal that killed any chance of America getting football back Fuck them
I feel terrible for the high school seniors. It's hard to fathom how many will miss out on scholarships due to the inability to put out senior film and potentially inflated college rosters due to the upcoming cancelation
I feel really good about putting all my eggs in the NFL basket now. I'm sure they won't fail miserably
No the first game of the Frost era was against Akron. It got cancelled due to thunderstorms. Many people think if we got to play that game/won that game the first season would have been different. I disagree but..
OH I was a bit confused. Well at least you won't have a losing season this year and frost can take like only $4 mill for that.
Would not shock me based on what I’ve seen from Frost and AD Moos, they claim every team forfeited and claim a 10-0 season.
This take doesn't surprise me from a fan base. The same people that say things like, "well, if the ball bounces different on a few plays, we win that game". Yeah, you mean the 5 turnovers our offense had???
He’s perfect for Husker fans. “Former rancher” that just talks about how he’s going to bring Nebraska back and mentions a bunch of other unrealistic stuff they eat up.
