From my experience, the beach isn't a lot of fun with a little baby. Especially when it's this hot. You can't be out there very long so it's a lot of schlepping back and forth with all your shit. And the baby is going to need A LOT of shit for the beach. especially at that age. I've never been a huge beach person so maybe i'm biased. I just don't think it's worth all the trouble.

    Waste of money imo

The kid is not going to be happy on the beach and it will turn into a logistical nightmare

2 month old is really so young to enjoy just about anything. My mom has a place on Lanier so we go there often and you can take pretty much any age baby on a boat ride and they will tolerate it. Maybe rent a condo up there with a pontoon and y'all could have some fun sunset cruises.

It's a crowded ass lake so maybe opt for Oconee or somewhere smaller, but I think that would be more enjoyable than the beach when you have a tiny baby.

I guess it depends on what youre wanting to do there. If youre expecting to enjoy time on the water or outside you will be disappointed for most of the reasons mentioned above. If its just to get out of your house and a change of scenery and there is a decent set up that you can somewhat keep your kids routine then it might be ok

Spent a few days at the beach with my sister's family and our 6 month old nephew this summer and I'd 2nd what Snakes said about going to the lake. Our nephew couldn't do more than 30 minutes in his tent without getting fussy so they were back and forth constantly and it didn't look fun for any of them

I dunno, our friends visited us for 2 weeks w their 2mo old and 3 yr old and had a blast. Took the baby to beach days, pool days, hiking days, etc... They spent more time at the house than most of our guests, but that was understandable.

I mean as long as you can get the kid some shade, is it really worse to deal w a fussy baby on a gorgeous beach than in a nondescript room?

ok so we are looking at getting a puppy toward the end of the year. My boys at the time will be almost 7 and 4. Any books or resources anyone recommends to work on puppy training in a home with kids? My wife and I both had dogs growing up but this will be the first as an adult.

Fuck I wish. It’s all I can manage to change his diaper and put on his onesie before he shits himself again.

He’s been sleeping p good for a newborn, and I only need ~6 hrs/day anyway, but this is a whole new level of exhaustion. Last night I had a nightmare that someone was trying to blackmail me into fathering a second child.

So my 10 year old told me yesterday he wants to start running and getting healthy. I said cool. Anytime you want to go I’m down.

He set his alarm for 3:30 this morning and woke me up ready to go. I was like WTF, but obliged because I don’t want to discourage him. Going to explain to him after school today we can do this between 5 and 6 and still get ready for school, etc and not be rushed.

Kids probably going to fall asleep in class today.

My 5 year old found his cleats we got him in the spring but never gave because baseball got canceled. He’s had me out in the yard pitching to him the last few days. Hate that he wasn’t able to play baseball for the first time.

Also. Step Dad question. My daughter will be born in a few months and I had always planned on getting another tattoo with her birthday on it. But the more I think about it, I don't think I should unless I get one with my Step sons birthday as well. I don't want him to think I feel differently towards him than I do her, which is a huge fear of mine.

I would probably include him. Worst case you divorce mom and don’t see the kid as much or at all. Even then it’s just a tat. Cover it up, keep it as a reminder. Not a big deal.

Also I know many adults that are still close with a former step dad or step mom. He may always be a part of your life even if you split.

Yeah. Its nothing against my son. Its I recognize the uncertainty of life and the tattoo I have now is a permanent piece of my life and always will be. I can't find any good ones I like yet that have dates. Not gonna put anything on my wrist or forearms though where most people get birthdays.

What’s video games like with your kids. My oldest loves it at 10, but he gets off when we tell him, doesn’t fuss, etc. however we let my 5 year old play fortnite with him during quarantine. Me and the wife were working from home and had a non stop work load. Kind of let him just play a bunch. Now that school is back we are weaning him off. He begs and begs still though. Feel really bad as a parent and like I may have fucked him up a little letting him play an addictive game at such a young age.

Feel really guilty. Anybody have similar issue or advice?

We had a lot of fog the other morning when taking the kids to school. My wife told the 3 yr old it’s foggy out side. Now foggy is her favorite word except in her 3 yr old voice, she makes it sound like fucky. This has been fun when we’ve been around other people.

My sons father just randomly gave up all of his week nights with my step son as he isn’t able to get him to school. It’s better as he never gets rest at his dads but I assume that must’ve been hard on him to go from getting his son for 5 nights every two weeks to only 2 now.
