I wonder what Michael Taylor of the Nats career average against Newk is. Probably something like .675
The thing I love about Newk and Folty is that every inning is a fucking production with them. It’s like watching Tommy Hanson throw 49 pitches a frame
This segment on Paul getting owned in the face by Eddie Perez is great. More of Paul getting the shit beaten out of him please.
So now we have 2 spots in the rotation to fill. We did a pen game for Soroka's, Touki has Folty's spot and now we'll need someone for Newks spot. Fuck
Time for a prospect to step up or for the front office to make a move. unfortunately i don’t see us moving any worthwhile prospects during this season
It’s amazing all of the draft capital we have spent on arms over the past 5 years with nothing to show for it. They all suck.
Seems like everyone coming to the realization that I was right....mostly. We've spent a fuck load of picks on pitchers in the last 20 drafts, it's been our main focus and "The Braves Way". Jiar Jurgens and Julio Terahan are the only two that have had any kind of sustained success. 20 years and all others have been fucking terrible. We've had countless top 100 pitching prospects just go to complete shit. Max and Soroka seem to be different. We didn't draft Touki, but had him for nearly all his development. Bryse is somehow still a top 50 prospect and can't throw 3 pitches Kyle Wright seems promising in a few starts. Maybe the tied will turn with Max/Soroka/+. But it's been a pile of shit outside a blip or two for 20 years
IF ONLY BEACHY AND MEDLEN hadn't gotten hurt. Also, Minor was not horrible while on the Braves -- granted he's gotten better after, but he was still a solid starter for us. Alex Wood was a solid starter as well.
what it comes down to is it's really unfortunate Newcomb and Folty are such headcases. They have the talent, but it isn't showing. We would be able to absorb the Hamels and Sorokoa injuries much easier if they were just decent.
