feel like UGA would find a way to cover it up given Kirby's efforts to change open records laws down there I'll go with FSU given their president's recent remarks about how eager they are to play and put kids in harm's way
Like it's really incredible these people have been wrong EVERY FUCKING TIME and morons like him still eat this shit up. The MLB literally tried this in a non contact sport with far less players and they had breakouts on teams, but somehow it's going to be different for college teams with less funding and a bunch of 17-21 year olds.
Those lawyers do exist, but they are hard to find, so you likely don’t unless you hang out with a bunch of public defenders.
the hot girl holding a football helmet with 4k twitter followers is definitely the expert on the issue.
Of course a bigot like you focus on her looks and twitter followers rather than the fact that she is a knowledgeable Sports medicine doctor
It should be noted the people that are pushing this literally are ignoring what happened in the MLB. These are bad people who literally want to sacrifice kids for their own entertainment I wish they'd be upfront about that. This is straight up nefarious shit by these people
Shame seeing a progressive like bro would belittle a woman because she is pretty and has no clout, I thought we were in 2020 not 1965.
Perhaps. The point that matters is multiple tests per week is sufficient to mitigate the spread of virus.
Sorry that I don’t pay attention to that awful league filled with awful people, but I am sure lessons can be learned from them to improve upon mitigation.
my only arguments here are: 1. these are legally adults 2. i believe adults can choose to do life risking things 3. i am selfish, yes
my argument is that we’ve don’t allow adults to do things that put others in life risking situations and we do things to mitigate when they do. Smoking is a “life risking” activity and we’ve implemented laws to lower the risk to others who don’t smoke. So you’re allowed to smoke and get cancer but you’re right to do that doesn’t give to the right to infringe on my health. In other words you can catch Covid if you want but that shouldn’t allow you to make me get it. Players getting sick puts others at risk not just themselves. That’s the argument against starting schools back about in restaurant eating about having fans in the stands. It’s not just about the players’ rights it’s about the public as a whole.
You know the first thing that pops into my mind when someone says "Spring" is definitely January and February in Ohio.
to be clear my official stance is this will work if only athletes are allowed on campus, otherwise its going to be a disaster. so, its going to be a disaster. but that doesnt make me unselfish
wouldn’t allowing them on campus make things worse? The only way this works is gong the NBA route and getting conference bubbles. This would mean renting out a hotel in a a major city. Yes I mean a hotel. For the Pac12 you’d need enough rooms to house about 2000 people for 3-4 months. In the pac12 we could do it in LA because we have 3 stadiums to play football (coliseum, rose bowl and the Home Depot) . Depending on how many stadiums we used you’d have 2-3 games at each each Saturday. Not undoable I’d assume two games in the three stadiums would be best because of the amount of cleaning that would be needed between games. You’d need to hire a few drivers that would be okay with remaining in the bubble. All school would be virtual. Logistics would be a nightmare but given time it could be done. Constant test minimal movement and travel. Coordinating practice and workout times etc . That’s what we would need to do it safely.
For the record I know that is ridiculous but that is what I believe would be needed to do this safely.
Ain’t about causation. It’s about suing and bringing intense public scrutiny and finding even the smallest mistake by a school and hammering them publicly until they settle.
I mean...she does have a nice sports medicine background.... Aloiya R. Earl, MD attended medical school at The University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences in Toledo, OH. She completed The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program and the University of Alabama Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship. Dr. Earl is a member of a number of organizations including the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, North American Primary Care Research Group, American Academy of Family Physicians, and the American College of Sports Medicine. Dr. Earl is board certified in family medicine. She holds other certifications including Evidence-based Vision Screening and Concussion Baseline Data Collection for NCAA Team Physicians, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Basic Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification, and Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics.
i think most, if not all, p5 schools can bubble almost sufficiently if the only people on campus are athletes while doing other things like keeping bars closed and having restaurants take out only, etc. you know, all the reasonable shit that should be happening everywhere. if the players want to play let them, but let them opt out if they dont want to and force those who do to live by a very strict code. if they break it, they dont get to play. no fans at games, period. if bars want to open for fans thats cool because the players shoudnt be there, and if they are, they dont get to play. if the schools want to make that big football money they need to sacrifice what theyll lose in tuition by going online only. along with all the necessary medical testing and such thay need to happen. so i see a way for it to be done, but no one is going to go to those extremes. i dont blame conferences/schools who refuse to play.
What happens if people can shed the virus before testing positive, or before the time that the positive test comes back? Wouldn’t that make team spread pretty likely?
HotMic and buckwild osu still isn’t playing football this year no matter how much either of you want to grasp at straws sorry :(
Listen here you spoiled, entitled crybabies... I’m soooooooo sorry you’re not going to get to play your precious fooseball this year. Get back to me when your team get their first NCAA tourney bid in 30 fucking years only to have the tournament FUCKING CANCELED. And then likely have the NEXT FUCKING SEASON canceled as fucking well.
