He’s always liked to surf, he’s just finally becoming his true self after leaving the Mormon State and moving to Virginia. Like Don Draper at the end of Mad Men
also 3 of our number earners are walkons? had to look up king, jones, and mitchell to see who they were.
in the national covid and higher ed conversation, all eyes pointed at UNC burning down and Mr Jefferson's university sitting around like hmmmm maybe we shouldn't do the exact same thing in a week...
Assuming move-in occurs, how long IYO does the semester go on before everyone gets sent home? I say 3 weeks but watching Chapel Hill I might take the under
I’m so glad I’m not a student now, especially a first year. The obvious choice is to save your money and take community college classes during a deferment year, but it takes some real balls to do that as an 18 year old. Would be cool if our country hadn’t fucked this up but it is what it is at this point, you’re not getting that year back.
they're definitely going to try...and they have the testing capability to at least monitor everything effectively. So I guess it'll work if the students actually try to socially distance themselves...which won't happen...so...a month!
reading through the FBS stats from last football season. I looked into the ST stats and was surprised to see us ranked so poorly in areas like Avg yards allowed/KR, and PR, but as i dug deeper i saw a few trends that allowed us to overcome those deficiencies. We ranked 119th in PR yards allowing 12.90yds each, but we only punted 10 times all season, tied for 3 fewest in the nation. We ranked 121st in KR yards allowing 24.90yds each, but we led the nation in Touch Backs with 58 total. we only had 20 kick offs returned by opponents, which is the 11th fewest. It's not breaking news that Joe Reed is a big loss, but we were second in Avg yds/KR, 28.67 and second in total KR yards on the season.
Weird, hope his family is okay. Gotta be something pretty serious to leave the bubble in the middle of a playoff game. Edit: Shit, forgot his mom has cancer.
I really hope we play because I think this is going to be a fun team, and even if it’s not and we suck I can just say this season is stupid and doesn’t count anyway
Losing Wicks hurts, but we've brought in a lot of transfer WRs. Sounded like they were pretty certain the Ronnie Walker waiver would be granted, but I don't think it's the end of the world if it's not given that this is a fake season anyway.
i don't see what difference it makes if the NCAA approves a waiver or not this year. at this point the ncaa is washing it's hands of the season and conferences are choosing to do whatever they please.
FWIW, On the waiver topic. The process is kind of weird. The first step is your application goes for the review panel and that group goes 100% by the book, you need to check all of the boxes. So a lot get denied. The group that hears the appeal is more lax on the requirements. So when it seems like someone should get it but doesn’t at first they likely check 9/10 boxes and an appeal has a chance.
Well apparently we have 2 scholarship RBs available so maybe my position on that has changed. It's still so hard to take any of this seriously the way things have gone with schools reopening so far. It's also laughable that anyone is talking about having fans at their games, no matter what percentage of capacity. Idiotic.
Wicks is so good - I guess best case scenario is he gets a medical RS during a fake year (but with the upcoming season cancellation they'll all get eligibility so whatever)
and here i was a few weeks ago asking why we were concerning ourselves with so many transfer backs. lol at this https://247sports.com/Article/Attor...-Big-Ten-decision-to-cancel-season-150470821/

Sometimes I get worried about opening up against Tech and other times I remember that this is VT's first game without Bud Foster in 33 years.
I wasn’t going to gloat about how our team has zero cases and Tech has to postpone, but I love that 2J will
imagine contracting a virus to avoid another beatdown from your rival? hokie football has really stumbled post-beamer.
