Megas are coming soon, they've just datamined Mega candy and Mega raid icons. I'm guessing it's the next big event, probably first week of September.
Yeah it's a big update. Also more evidence of a in-game map overhaul. Not looking forward to making the should-I-Mega decision and then guilting myself into 10 more raids that day to take advantage of it before it devolves the next day (or hour, whatever)
i got the shiny on the first one. Also not sure why these weren't weather boosted like the other day. It's been raining all morning.
still no dice on shiny either... probably spent like 20$ on these raids... at least it was all from google rewards money.
Up to 45 and no shiny. Between Deoxys and Genesct, 1 shiny in the last 82 legendary raids. On a cold one
The game takes the Accuweather hourly forecasts for the day from the night before...can't remember what time exactly and doesn't update them during the day. So especially if you get unexpected weather, it never shows up in game. E.g. last night if it had predicted partly cloudy for 11am-1pm and it rained from 11am-1pm instead, you had partly cloudy weather in game
Yeah I figured. A friend and I are gonna take a day trip to Ithaca next weekend I think. About a 7 hour drive. Leave around midnight, get breakfast take out somewhere there, play a few hours, drive back. Seems dumb, but there's not shit else to do right now.
If mega evolutions are temporary time based with a countdown outside of battle then its dead content on arrival. fuck spending 100 mega candies to mega evolve a mewtwo that'll last for all of 2-3 raids.
Wheh I go to PSU games I get to Syracuse then head west and head to Williamsport through the finger lakes. Both Geneva and Auburn are super cool towns. Auburn has a great brewery that had amazing food when we stopped last year
On that note, State College is *just* out of the zone or I'd probably head there. Ithaca has a pretty active PGo community and two campuses and a downtown with a good number of stops...I posted up on their discord to get some details. I wish we could just drive through Canada after signing a "I'm a dumb American but I promise I won't stop anywhere in your beautiful country" release form. Would save a couple hours.
The impression I got from that post is you need to spend currency every time the temporary timer runs out.
NYGator I see you and your crew online and assume you're raising. Feel free to shoot me an invite if im still on...would love a few more heatrans.
Yes, by default whenever I initiate a raid, I always invite whichever of you guys are online. My issue is I generally don't plan. If something pops up I just go ahead and do it, since I have three accounts and can beat any of them with my three. I'm in the house for awhile so unless something pops up at either of the two reachable remote gyms I will be off for awhile.
Hey, I switched devices that I run my second and third accounts on and I am trying to build up my third acct with the auto catcher. if you don’t have it added as a friend please add me. The LunarJClipse acct. may be a little less active, and this one will be used more often for now. 0987 2233 7006 Jack8Tak
https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2020-08-26-heres-how-mega-evolution-works-in-pokemon-go Pokémon Go gets its first Mega Pokémon this week, as well as a whole chunk of new gameplay centred around how these super-powered Pokémon will work. As in the main series of Pokémon games, Mega Evolution in Pokémon Go is a temporary effect. In Pokémon Go, Mega Pokémon require Mega Energy to evolve and will remain in their Mega form as long as they have enough Mega Energy to continue to do so. Mega Energy is discreet to each Pokémon species - like Pokémon candy. While a Pokémon is Mega Evolved, its Mega Energy will deplete over time. (Only one of your Pokémon can be Mega Evolved at any particular time.) After Mega Evolving a particular creature once, it will then be cheaper to Mega Evolve in future. You can receive more Mega Energy for a particular species by battling that creature in Mega Raids - a new tier of raid battle set to launch alongside Mega Evolution. The faster you complete these raids, the more Mega Energy you will receive - encouraging you to battle with as many players as possible. (It's unclear if other methods of obtaining Mega Energy will be available.) Mega Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise will launch this week and be available to battle in raids. Mega Beedrill will also make its debut this week, with Mega Energy available via a new questline from hunky Professor Willow. As well as being all-round powerful, Mega Pokémon will boost the attack power of all other Pokémon when battling in raids (which will be useful to complete harder raid bosses with fewer players). Pokémon with the same type as the Mega Evolved Pokémon will receive an even greater attack boost. Mega Pokémon can be set as your buddy, though like Legendary creatures cannot be left to defend gyms. They can be used in battles against your friends but are (for now) not usable in the competitive Go Battle League. Shadow and Clone Pokémon cannot be Mega Evolved. Finally, a new Mega Pokémon section of the game's Pokédex will also go live, letting you track each species. September will be filled with Mega Evolution-themed events, further details of which will be announced closer to the time. September 1st to 7th will involve battling in Mega Raids, while 11th to 17th September will task you to compete in gym, trainer and Team Rocket battles. Lastly, 22nd to 28th September will feature buddy tasks. Our dedicated Mega Evolution guide will be updated with available Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Go as they are added to the game.
So yea...Gotta keep raiding Mewtwos if you want to use Mega Mewtwo, Charizards to mega Charizard etc... Not a fan at all.
