Holy shit, I haven’t clicked a CNN link in a while I guess. Page is littered with “you’ll never believe this one dietary secret” and “13sec that will change your life” type links. I think I too now have butt AIDS. Thanks.
Rix was the least of my worries for the six or seven years that followed him. The lost decade has scarred me.
Bumpers shipped out Friday. Gotta attach my rack to the the wall tomorrow and hopefully my toe is ready to squat on Wednesday. Blessed I can lift more than 85 pounds this week
Y’all come help me put the gym in order. Have a Rep PR-5000 v2 in the works with clear grind uprights, white crossmembers, and all the accessories. Should be interesting to compare to Sorinex.
Went to assemble by wall mounted rack today only to find out that my wall has 24" spaces studs and Rogue stipulates they should be put into 4 12" spaced studs. Sigh.... I guess I just figured they'd have it set up to new constitution standards. Even at 16" spacing the stringer would only get 3 studs, not 4. So hensleya... Imma guess only putting a rack into 2 studs would probably be weak. So I'm going to buy two 2x10x8...sink that into 4 studs spaced 24" apart, then put the stringer into that board at the appropriate distances. Sound about right?
Just signed papers with the realtor to sell the house. The spot we are moving to (or at least planning to) doesn't have a mother in law house for a full gym like the last one we were looking at, but they closed in a 2 car breezeway that will serve as my office and gym. The house itself isn't much of an upgrade, but its more land, closer to work and I don't like the way the neighborhood is going where we are at currently. That being said, I think a move deserves a gym toy. Debating between: Rep Bench eliteFTS squat box eliteFTS core blaster belt squat attachment Pulley setup (hensleya ...any recommendations?) GHR (probably won't get that crazy...)
Gyms in Cali still closed after a month. This sucks. Actually heard a few are defying the state order but they are all 30 minutes away and won't do a month-to-month contract.
Watched the video before reading the caption and was thinking to myself, guy really doesn't have proper shoes
Got all of my bumpers from Fringe Sports last night. Mil Spec basic black bumbers.... I'm actually pretty impressed by them. They are pretty thin. I was worried about getting the shitty 3" thick std black bumbers, but at 2.4" thicc they don't seem too bad. They aren't perfect Oly Bumpers, but I'm hoping in a year I can pick up some for cheap on CL or just sell what I got and probably switch fully over to colored Kilos.
I thought the navy was purple first until I read back over it. But nah it's a good color scheme. Just would look better in orange, that's all.
Placed an order for rubber flooring from rubberflooringinc.com on 8/2 and it still hasn't shipped. They've been dicking me around and recently told me it shipped on Tuesday and gave me the tracking number. Nothing has happened besides the label getting created. I decided to get it online b/c a tractor supply is a solid 40 miles away from me and no real way to get other rubber mats. I'm close to completely canceling my order, but then I don't have a back up hensleya any companies you work with?
you can check out Regupol. A little more expensive than rubberflooringinc but more reputable and higher quality. You’ll have to get a quote through them. No direct buy option.
I got mine at the TSC down in Douglasville. Took about 45 minutes from midtown so not too terrible. Might be easier to bite the bullet and drive down
Would you recommend having at least some kind of wood base under the rubber to help deaden any thuds and possibly help it last longer?
No need. Apply directly to concrete. Those rubber products are better than stall mats at distributing force and sound.
Yeah, that's what I was looking at. How bit was it? Was it rolled? I don't think I can get a 4x6 sheet into my wife's small SUV. Also, how bad to they smell?
If you're just deadlifting I think that make sense...but if you're dropping a ton from overhead I'd imagine you really want the plywood to distribute the force over a larger area. yeah?
I got a 4x6 but call ahead to make sure they're in stock. I drove to Douglasville the 2nd time like an asshole without checking and they were out so I ended up going another 30 minutes to get it at a different TSC. I have a grand cherokee but I think you can fit it in a small SUV because they rolled mine up which helped quite a bit. Smell isn't great but it doesn't linger in the car
So how long does it take the smell to go away? These are like $45 at TSC vs the $140 I paid (most of it was shipping). The rubber company claims these will not smell
I really didn't have a problem with it at all in the garage. It smelled in the car but nothing overwhelming
