Yup. The media is doing it again. He's going to 100% win. I don't give a fuck what the polls say right now, they've got plenty of time for the Media to both sides a fascist wanna be dictator vs a guy who might say something slightly off hand occasionally & has a speech impediment
It's prob going to look like '16 too. Lose by a lot and win key electoral votes by <100k votes. Very cool.
Right now just feels particularly unbearable because Trump and the RNC are only tv for 4 straight nights getting soft coverage and discussion of ‘tone.’
I (joe) plan on taking wednesday off so as to either celebrate or find the nearest bridge and swan dive off of it
Of course they are. Approve the deal in September and brrrr the money printer in October as people make their decisions for November. Anyone with common sense could tell that was the plan.
I fully expect him to lose by 7 points and win the EC because old slave owners needed a way to count slaves but no have them be human. The Electoral College is America personified. White minority rule because of rules set up by white men for white men.
The Kenosha riots are going to be featured in political ads, and low information voters will be scared. “defund the police” was always going to take too much explaining for the average person. Biden hasn’t adopted the notion, yet it’s still being tied to him.
right. by and large, Americans are too stupid for nuance. Even if you do explain it to people, white people in this country, by and large, are quite comfortable with white supremacy. "they need to know their place" and such.
When people ask Biden if he wants to defund the police he says, “No. But Trump does, and here is how.” Feel free to worry about that if you want.
California wildfires are more threatening than usual because we don’t have as many prisoners to fight them as normal due to Covid. Pretty cool stuff we have going on at the moment.
Love our media. Trump peddles conspiracy theories and racism to scare white pepole. HOW WILL BIDEN ADDRESS THESE CLAIMS!!!!
The idea that how will police brutality and murder of people protesting police brutality be handled be the issue of the sitting Presidents opponent is some next level stupidity.
I don't mean to be nitpicky guy here but the CA wildfires are more threatening because of a confluence of global warming/climate change (unproven but probable), forest management suppressing fires over the last several decades leading to a buildup of fuel, and urban encroachment into potential fire areas. Our ability to fight them has been impeded by covid's effect on the prison population - those who may be most eligible for fire work have been released early in order to mitigate crowding and covid spread, and others in the remaining population may have been infected. Setting aside the issues of whether or not early release is a good idea or whether the prisons should be as populated/crowded as our criminal justice system has allowed them to become in the first place, it's a weird thing to rely on an incarcerated population for low-cost fire suppression
All of this should have been over in 1H 2017 when he fired Comey. Or any of the hundreds of other things that would typically bring down a potus. Ah, but nevertheless...
In a “legit” election scenario Biden wins comfortably. But we all know it’s not going to be legit, far beyond BAU GOP suppression factors. I’ve already accepted it and progressed thru my change curve. But i literally can’t sleep at night and won’t be able to until we know what’s what. I hope to be pleasantly surprised, but keeping my expectations in check.
Almost where? That covid is fucking us? check. That our system tends toward overincarceration? check. That we shouldn't be using prisoners to do dangerous work for almost free when we pay and train firefighters to do it? check. What am I missing? My main issue with your post was the poor phrasing about the fires being more threatening because of covid. They aren't. The fires are more threatening because of a lot of other issues, but the messed up means that we use to contend with the increased threat has been affected by covid.
More threatening was improperly phrased but the point stands. A system where we’re forced to use prison labor to fight man made climate crises is problematic and what I was highlighting, not the extent of these particular fires.
More threatening compared to last year because COVID has resulted in fewer slave laborers available. More threatening compared to 10 years ago because of all the reasons AD cited Carry on.
I just don't believe the polls. I think there is a significant portion of people that are embarrassed to tell a poller they will vote for Trump and say either Biden or undecided. Once they are in their polling booth though, the vote will go to Trump. I think nearly all of the "undecided" voters are Trump voters. Everyone has decided......some are just embarrassed by their decision.
Now the CDC is working to hide Covid cases with their new guidelines. We are a god damn joke of a country.
