oh man that looks like a direct hit on calciseau lake- there are a ton of nice camps there that are about to get washed away. Couple casinos up the lake also that are going to get a lot of flooding.
I don’t spend much time out there but I assume everyone south of the interstate In that area was smart enough to evacuate.
one my buds lives lake charles. he and his wife and toddler noped out yesterday about 70 miles east. not sure where exactly that puts him but he’s obv freaking about what he’s going to come home to.
About 30 miles from shore now. Landfall within the next few hours. Look at all those tornado warnings (red polygons). It'll be hard to focus on anything other than this tonight
Those videos/graphics always terrify me. Also the thought of “dangerous wildlife” being under the water.

One of my really good friends brother is in lake Charles with the Cajun navy just waiting. They are all in a warehouse just riding it out until they are needed.

They sent out warnings to all the Acxiom peeps today offering up offices as shelters etc if needed since it looks like it's gonna finish up through LR.
Yeah I guess it depends on the outer bands hitting us, but LR could get some insane rain totals. Lower elevation areas in the delta east of LR and in Fort Smith could get really bad with flooding if it stalls out... but nothing like we will see in LA and East TX. We’ve seen a few of these head north through Arkansas the past 10 years after rocking the coast
I doubt we get much up here in the corner, NWS Tulsa guessing about .5" of rain for us, now central Ar will get the brunt of it.
The weather channel people never fail to amaze me. Just insane they constantly put their lives on the line like this
