I've brought this movie up many, many times since it came out over 5 years ago, and I'm going to bring it up again, since it was recently added to Prime. If you liked Behind Enemy Lines with Owen Wilson, I think you'll really enjoy this one, '71. https://www.amazon.com/gp/video/detail/B00ZS85TI2/ref=atv_wl_hom_c_unkc_1_1
This is how I felt early, but around episode 4 the other characters start to shine a little more and the coaches jokes seem to land better too.
Follow up to my earlier Hoops post. It was episode 3 I started to enjoy. Ethics. On 8 or 9 now and still enjoying. Glad I stuck with it after a weak opening episode or two
gave it 5 eps, didn't perceive any change whatsoever. Ben is a trash character, jake screams the whole time which doesn't help the garbage jokes, and the whole thing is edgy for edgy's sake. I know where to go when I want to see a degenerate coach
The last part is bothersome At times and I agree. However, I thought the jokes began to land better and enjoyed the side characters
watched it the other night and predictably, Selma is pretty much the reason to watch it. that and the laziness and dgaf'ness is somehow hilarious when the cameos turn out to be using their real (first) names
bo Jack > Big Mouth > Hoops. Hoops isn’t great, but I’m out of things to watch and like it enough. Could see the lack of appeal for sure though
Most people like it, I thought it was little better than average. If you are fairly caught up with shows it’s certainly worth a watch
It starts out slowish and then picks up the pace quickly. The characters are great for the most part and the story and plot are pretty gripping in S1. Like a lot of Netflix shows, the fact that a lot of plot points can be resolved with a single conversation or just better communication can be maddening as a practical viewer, but overall it’s enjoyable. I haven’t got to S2. Will finish before The Boys comes out in 2 weeks though.
I liked s1 better than 2. I think part of the problem is was watching it around the same time I watched the boys. The Boys is just fantastic so maybe UA felt a little lesser than it actually it was. Ike I said though. It’s worth a watch
It was such a good bonding experience for the two of us. He got to see my first console the Atari 2600, the rise of Nintendo, my second console...the Sega Genesis. , and the continued evolution to the games he plays now. The dial up internet shit during the Doom episode wrinkled his brain since all he knows is turning on the X-box and his game loads in about 20 seconds He's saving up his money for a Genesis now
got so giddy whenever Zelda references were made. I appreciated them interviewing all of the Japanese execs/artists who were involved, especially the DJ who came up with the sound effects for the early Nintendo games and guy who drew the renderings for characters in final fantasy (I think). madden backstory was a trip. was never into the first person shooter stuff, but enjoyed the ingenuity displayed by the DOOM guys and the 3D hackers. good stuff
Finished Amateur today. Very average, but if you're in the mood for a sports movie, it's worth consideration considering the sports movie options on Netflix aren't great.
Class Action Park on HBO Max Decent. Brought some memories back. Was mostly too young to go full bore.
I am a killer- released was good Spoiler f that guy tho. He hasn’t changed at all. He’s lying about this new story he came up with. Can’t believe they paroled him
