It wasn't that the Pac-12 in and of itself is enlightened, it's just the only area of P5 conferences where I think coaches could speak openly and seriously about social issues like BLM without getting serious fanbase pushback for the most part. You can't do that anywhere in the SEC or Big 12, most of the Big 10, and most of the ACC except maybe Cuse and BC but that'd require those fanbases caring enough about football in general to get angry over a coach speaking his mind. Like, even Bama fans are gunning at Saban in some of these comments and that dude could rob convenience stores in broad daylight or kick pregnant women in the stomach and not get arrested in that state. CFB just leans conservative and religious, way more than a ton of other sports. Stuff like BLM is like poison to a lot of CFB fans.
