And to snooze all 7 alexa devices? Ring really should have an easy mute/snooze function for like baby nap time, etc
i dont understand how the USPS expects me to install a curbside mailbox according to their specifications, when there's a natural gas line buried all along the front of the property. anyone have experience w this ?
i just got 2.875% on a 30-year fixed Commercial banks kind of suck when it comes to mortgages IMO, i went to a local mortgage broker. and my local credit union, the best they could do was a 20-year fixed at 4.25%. so there are loads of shitty mortgages out there. i generally agree, but there's always risk that if rates go up, prices will fall.
Do you know what the gas line depth code is in your state? I think in some states it is a minimum of 12 inches but in others, it needs to be buried a minimum of 30 inches. I think it you are digging a post less than 12 inches deep you should be good.
Well, looks like I belong in this thread. We've been in our house since 2017 and weren't looking to move, but my wife got a promotion and so we're moving to a community that will put us closer to her office and also closer to her parents. We got pre-approved for a 30-year fixed with a 2.375 interest rate. The guy that handled the approval process said it's the lowest interest rate he's ever seen. After 14 showings over the past two weeks + one weekend, we got one offer, which we accepted today.
Do a "one call" on your right of way and they will mark it and should send you contact info in the ticket when it's marked that you can call and ask questions
Which of these patio designs do you guys like better? They both would be extensions of a screened-in lanai. The lanai is currently concrete, but they would paver over it with the same pavers that would be used for the addition. I like the usability of the rectangle, but the aesthetics of the circle.
We are, and I think that’s what’s pushing me toward that one. I think part of why the circle looks so good is because it’s nicely landscaped around it. I’m thinking the same would be true of the rectangle, which just looks kind of incomplete.
If you are going to have a fire pit, I think the rectangle with semi circle works better. only thing different I think I would do from the picture is to have the little wall around part or all of the rectangle, just like the semi has. insert joke about making the people of the semi circle pay for the wall on the rectangle.
I'd rather have that issue than mine. Because of USPS's current struggles, all new construction homes don't get a mailbox at the end of their driveway, they get a communal mailbox similar to an apartment complex, and ours is a street over from us.
Already one step ahead of you buddy. We saw a few people with them in the neighborhood and I looked at my wife and was like "you know we're getting one, right?" She didn't disagree.
We got one within the first year we moved into our house, damn near everyone here has one 10 years later and I've done some modifications and some repairs, and spent many a buzzed weekend evening rolling around and talking to neighbors
My bug company sucks and is way too expensive I'm sure. Think I've seen in here a couple of people that DIY it. Mostly dealing with cockroaches right now and at times ants. What is recommended to deal with this without poisoning my family.
I may be inquiring at some point in the next year if you have any advice/recommendations. I see a lot of gas powered ones for sale, but electric seems like it would be way easier to maintain.
I have gas Electric might be easier to maintain, just costs about about $1200 every few years to replace batteries Which is more than I've spent on repairs in 10 years combined
I never thought our exterminators were over priced. Might be due to climate here but they hit us twice a year and we have no issues when we remember to call.
i am DIY'ing it at the moment. each bug has a habitat, behavior, etc., so i take them one by one, look up the exact species and research it. so for example: war on the tiger mosquitos : currently planning to build some kind of stormwater conveyance (like a french drain) to drain my backyard; will try and get the neighbor to clean up the standing water in his; if the water situation gets sorted then i'm thinking about buying a few of these-- https://us.biogents.com/ . Willing to spray chemicals in a year or two if this strategy doesn't pan out. war on the german cockroaches : just bought a bunch of bait traps; keeping the house extremely clean in terms of food, garbage, etc; willing to spray chemicals if it doesn't get better in a few months Détente with the spiders : i have an insane amount of spiders but right now they seem more helpful than anything else counter-terrorism against Fleas/Ticks : keep the grass cut, keep the pets protected via pharmaceuticals Past wars against sugar ants : victory through boric acid Could I just cover everything in insecticides? Would I? Yes. But i'm trying to avoid relying too much on that.
Climate and environment plays a big part. I live in an area of Florida that gets a good amount of northern transplants moving down. Had someone say to me, “We had a bug company knock on our door about hiring their service. Do we really need pest control or are they just trying to scam us?” I almost fell over from laughter.
One thing I've learned i don't like about my rachio is that it will skip a day based on forecasted rain, not just actual measured rainfall.
