Sometimes, though not a lot of heavy timber spots like that. They take a while to get going, but once they do, well...that happens.
Never thought there’s whores in this house could be a badass beat but here I am/ a white boy from Nebraska repeating the lyric. Thank you cardi
I love it but might I inquire what was he about to say? I assume it’s some dumb internet challenge/meme type thing?
I mean a few things: -That house is a complete loss. Literally every inch of it is on fire. There is no saving anything, so just spray where the red stuff is. -They taught us “T-Z-O” methods in the academy. Saw a couple “O”s in there, but he may have learned something different. -A large majority of firefighters in the US are not career, they are volunteer. They do it for free, essentially. Most of the time, they don’t have to go through as much training as we do, so their skills might be lacking. Some full-time guys call them “knobs” and it think that couldn’t be more incorrect. Can they be a little overexcited sometimes? From a lot of the guys I’ve encountered, sure. But truthfully, I think they’re the best of us. They are spending their free time, helping other people, and not getting paid to do it. I’d also take some volunteer guys I’ve met over some worthless career FFs. But looking at that video again, it doesn’t really matter. The only thing putting out such a structure is a massive fuckton of water.
I literally have no actual criticism, just me sitting here drinking thinking “I coulda put that bitch out faster”
Depending on where you are, water access can be an issue, quite frequently actually. Where I work now, we have some hydrants that hit 130 psi, it’s absurd and the truck basically just becomes a giant manifold. However, my first part time job, we had hydrants that went as low as 30-40 psi and you’re gonna struggle with that. A lot of the rural guys have to shuttle water from tanker trucks, too. I don’t know what I’m explaining this so much, sorry.
No apology needed. The more “mist” like setting on the hose seems the least effective, to a layman like me, with the intense heat evaporating it quicker. Is that a wrong assessment?
No, you’re correct. That’s a fog nozzle and the best bet is to keep your stream focused to get as much water as possible into each inch of that gigantic house-shaped ember.
