Every time I think it’s not going to get dusty in the room when I think about this, someone else who knew him posts something moving. Every. Fucking. Time.
I hate getting into this so soon after his passing but a logical direction for the story could be the M’Baku survived the snap and led in the time that T’Challa was gone. Passed the throne back upon his return with the Jabari part of the fold in Wakanda and upon T’Challa’s demise he takes the throne again
It’s going to be Shuri. Marvel wants more females in prominent roles, and pretty much everyone loves her character. She’s also his sister, so she is the logical choice when it comes to succession.
I don’t think it fits M’Baku’s character but I still think it’d cool to have him be Shuri’s mentor (along with her Mom) as she learns to fight as the new Black Panther. Continue as her #2 while she learns.
There's a more interesting Mentor and/or romance angle here between her and Sebastian Stan but I'm not the one to write it
They will not recast him. He’s a symbol at this point. They will find some way to write him out of the sequel and honor his character.
So apparently not even Feige knew he was sick until an hour after he passed away. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/n...eed-on-black-panther-without-chadwick-boseman
So there’s no more heart shaped herbs so does Suri just make an Iron Man version for the Black Panther suit.
Along those lines. Switch opens up the multiverse. Dr Strange traverses the ‘multiverse or madness’. In one universe Killmongers dad never leaves Wakanda and he grows up to be T’Challa’s 1st Lieutenant. Strange brings him back to help run Wakanda and bang Ororo Munroe.
Elizabeth Olsen had to delete her IG bc people were giving her shit about not posting something about Boseman.
I’m generally for famous people using platforms for good but expressing grief or processing loss publicly or not should be exempt imo and demands otherwise are pretty crappy of people
Yeah, when my grandma passed, my dad said “This should go without saying but don’t make social media posts about your grandmother” Some people find it disrespectful
Country continuing to remind me how dumb the citizens are on daily basis. I'll be honest shit like that makes me uncomfortable and I'd have no idea what to say, especially if we weren't close or anything like that. I don't even sign condolence cards.
This why it’s endearing and admirable that Boseman kept his condition tight lipped. Nowadays celebrities put their entire lives on social media and people are crazy enough to feel apart of it. Then when you have someone like Olsen who didn’t post anything, she’s wrongly attacked by losers who have nothing else to do with their lives and that’s the only way they feel significant.
Fans of these major franchises are so fucking toxic. Just look at Boyega's reaction after finishing Star Wars. He's got real resentment towards the way he was treated by the fans (LOTS OF RACIST SHIT) along with the issues of the way his charter was handled and how he was just treated as a token by the studio. I couldn't image going through any of this shit, I'd probably be the same way I am now if I was in that position and just have like zero online presence.
Went back and watched the 2005 Fantastic Four now that it’s on Disney+ Wooooooof. Acting is horrific, hilariously heavy handed product placement, way over the top with incorporating action sports and pop punk music (late 90s/early 2000s pop culture yikes). Dear god I hope Feige can figure out how to make one of these.
I’ve never gotten the appeal with fantastic four. I wasn’t drawn to the comics, or any of the movies. Maybe it could work if they took a GOTG approach with self-deprecating humor amongst the group or something, because you have the couple of who loves each other, the goofy brother, and the guy who hates himself for what he looks like. Idk that just seems like a joke written all over it.
They need to get Reed Richards right too, he plays one of the largest roles of any character in the Marvel Universe. Nailing Reed Richards would also give me hope that one day we might see Maker as well.
It's the most "high risk/high reward" property they have, imo. There's a thousand things that have to be done juuuuust right for it to work. It's a real tightrope between too silly and too serious. Go too far on the silly side and you can't get into it. Go too far on the serious side and you end up laughing at how serious it is while stretch armstrong and rock man run around the screen. But, if you nail the tone, the universe, the rogues, the storylines are (in my opinion) third behind spider-man and x-men, which is to say "the property is loaded with material." F4 could maintain its own franchise and supply plenty of Avengers-level stories too. It's almost criminal how little Fox did with the property but, as said, it's also really hard to get the tone good enough to work.
There was a deleted scene in BP where a young T’challa was playing in the caves by the heart shaped herbs following his Dad. Betting they can worked that in and say he “accidentally” planted one and it grew without notice
T’challa planting the seed for someone else to carry on the mantel would be some great metaphorical imagery.
F4 has an elite tier rogue gallery. Doom, Galactus (which brings us Surfer), Annihiulus, Kree, Skrulls, Kang, Molecule Man
I think, by now, everyone on this site knows I am a huge comics nerd, so I say this with a heavy heart: Fuck the Fantastic Four. They are incredibly overrated as the “First Family” at Marvel and they can be decent if done right, but never be on anything Avengers level with general audiences. Doom, however... There is really nothing I want more than Doom to be the next Big Bad in the MCU. In my opinion, the F4’s villains are much more interesting than they are as a team. Especially Doom, who is probably the best villain in all of Marvel comics.
I'm more excited/nervous about who the cast as Doom than I am anything else. That will make or break it all
I have low expectations for F4 so Feige has room to absolutely crush it and make me love them. I hate that Josh Trank’s bitch ass wasted Miles Teller in an abomination of a film. But alas, Michael B. Jordan was reborn so he probably can be too. Funny that the only reliable thing in those films has been the ability of the Human Torch to be recast.
Doom is tied to everything in Marvel. His mom was a gypsy sorceress that made a deal with a demon that collected her soul upon payment. Doom went to hell with magic to save her. His story arch to villain would be an amazing trilogy
Doom was basically #2 to Dr. Strange when it came to selecting the Sorcerer Supreme of Earth. He's more powerful than Strange because he combines sorcery with science. The character is basically what happens if you merged Strange with Tony Stark.
Yeah, Doom has gone toe to toe with and often bested the most intelligent technological people in Marvel and the most prolific magic users. Mostly because he’s willing to do things they refuse to do.
