It's nice to see the Lions making National media for something good and not just because they are an awful football team
This is mainly because I don't trust any reports on NFL deals, but that doesn't seem like as much money as the media is suggesting. It's an NFL deal that spans 6 years. Seems like the yearly $$ and the guarantees that will come the first couple years are in line with what OTs get on the market.
PFF has Decker as the 23 best OT entering the season (includes LT and RT) 23. TAYLOR DECKER, DETROIT LIONS Decker has consistently been an above-average player throughout his four-year NFL career. He’s earned an above-average grade on true pass sets and has avoided negatively graded run blocks at an above-average rate, too — both of these are stable metrics for offensive tackles. Decker closed out the 2019 NFL season from Week 8 on as the league’s sixth-highest-graded tackle and will look to continue that in 2020.
I would assume the $37.5M guaranteed is all signing bonus + first two seasons salary that's guaranteed. Pretty much all of the rest is likely the last four years.
This is a lot like the FA deals they've been making the last few years. It's basically a two-year extension with two team option years they can get out of for about around $3.5M after 2022.
Fixed it. This is probably the only time the Lions will ever finish #1, so we can't get careless. Unless you were trying to say that there is an official team baby (which would obviously be a Stafford) and it should be sold.
Keenan Allen just got 4/$80M from the Chargers. Guessing that's the blueprint for Golladay's extension now.
At least we didn't just trade our third round pick to the Dolphins for a fourth rounder next year like the Raiders did today
Yes that bad too, but At least they got something for him, right? We could have drafted that punter from Texas AM that’s supposed to be pretty good. Probably better than that other guy we signed.
I'm guessing part of the reason they cut Huntley is because they think there's a good chance he clears waivers and ends up on the practice squad.
Sounds like swift returned to practice last week. So maybe Scarborough is the odd man out. Not sure how many carries AP gets. The guy must be done if the Redskins cut him.
But we have the desicated corpse of Adrian Peterson. Why would we need a cheap, young speedster when Zombie All Day is in the room.
