What NFL personnel told The Athletic Wisconsin’s Bob McGinn before the draft about running back AJ Dillon of Boston College and fullback/tight end Josiah Deguara of Cincinnati, the Packers’ selections Friday night.
I really can’t wrap my head around how we didn’t take a WR after seeing the production from that group last year.
I bet there were one or two of these every week along with one or two where he hits a guy on a big play and drops it. The year before it was going for the hero play when an easy check down moves the chains. There is a lot of improvement available there if he just doesn't lock onto Adams all the time.
The first half of the schedule is much tougher with Minnesota x2 and road games at New Orleans, Houston, and SF. And at Tampa as well. The second half looks a lot more manageable with Philly and Tennessee at home and Chicago x2.
I have a tough time getting a read on this guy (Bukowski), I feel like he used to be overly pessimistic about things and somewhere switched to incredibly rosey. (In addition to spending a LOT of time trolling Bears fan) Feels to me like a guy trying to make it and feeling like he needs to fill some character void to fit in.
If Dillon, Deguara, etc all turn out to be really good players it won't matter that there were no WRs taken. If they can get Tyler Ervin involved and ESB can be a legit #3 I think we have enough weapons.
Would be nice if those stock ups proved themselves once the season starts. It would be nice to have seen ESB included. If it's true they've found something in Kamal Martin and Oren Burkes is playing better, that could provide legit depth in the middle. Finding solutions at DL, LB, WR2, OL would go a long way with this roster.
Kamal sounding like the real deal is great news for both of my allegiances. I really think he would have blown up this past year if he wasn't dealing with injuries.
Nothing too surprising. Kumerow I guess? Thought Samuels might make it. I imagine Tramon Williams and Jared Veldheer are just waiting for the call.
