Best part of that was the segment with the black sheep son who’s in charge of the dusty, dark, and damp parts library.
I did but I don’t use any of the cool features. I did it during Covid to watch old races. No app for FireTV but there is one for Roku.
Quali takeaways: Party mode ban hurt RBR more than Merc Q1 was a mess. Blocking and traffic jams Sainz putting in work. Both Ferraris fail to make Q3 (yikes) Lol they showed a “90th win” graphic for Lewis by accident. They already know what will happen tomorrow
Can't hate Merc for swinging the big dick and just saying fuck the slipstream. That's for the plebians. Not like they'll get the benefit of it out front all day tomorrow anyway. Will be fun watching Max get to his P3 spot from further back than he normally is. As a lifelong Husk fan, I get what Ferrari fans are going through. Darkest of times setting the wrong kind of records is no fun.
As a Ferrari supporter whats currently happening is beyond embarrassing. Binotto has been a total failure of a hire. Not sure how I make it another 30 races watching this garbage each weekend. You can hear the frustration on radio not only by Seb but now Charles. Things aren’t good
And yet, Ferrari said this week that they weren't going to (basically) be Ferrari of the past and ask for a head...Binotto stays. That's nuts. He's way over his head, and the fact that he got this high up in racing for them should tell them there's a lot wrong with the structure there. IMO.
Should be at least a decent start of the race with Max starting 5th. If he isn’t into third by lap 2/3 this is going to be a boring race.
Think they said you can change tires but it’s like for like so Stroll would still need to pit again if true
That was some entertaining racing!!! Max has got to be so frustrated. Such a wasted opportunity for him/Red Bull Happy for Gasly. Fuck a Lance Stroll on the podium.
Stoked for Gasly but would have also loved to see Sainz win. Another lap and I think he's got him. Still an awesome result for him coming off of a disaster last weekend at Spa and of course Gasley is a great feel good story. All around way more entertaining race than I thought we were in for a few laps in. Man Ferrari is a disaster right now. I wonder if Sainz is second guessing that move to the Scuderia with how well McLaren are coming on.
Yes. Huge changes over the next 2 years should do a good job in shuffling everything up. Plus, if Red Bull can find a good fit opposite Max they're still in a better position imo.
Just an all around incredible race. Nothing else to add. Happy for Pierre, boy seeing him sit on the podium by self made me feel a little something for him. His last 365 days has been one hell of a whirlwind
before the start of the 2020 season if I told you a Italian team would win at Monza. Not a single person would guess Pierre would do it in the alpha tari Great race... Shame for Max was the chance to gain a shit ton of points on Lewis and really bring some pressure on him.
He never under green or yellow flag conditions. So when the race was red flagged he and every driver were allowed to change tires. Huge break for Lance. Carlos should’ve won given the mistake by Lewis but not going to be mad at Pierre. Next week we return to the Lewis show
Random thought: very excited with what McLaren is doing lately. Can’t wait for that Danny/Lando combo
I’m sad sainz is leaving I really like the combo of him and lando it seems like they have a good relationship
Someone else already mentioned this, but I'd like to hear from Sainz about his honest short term outlook.
Sergio Perez is out at Racing Point. Seb gonna be the guy one would imagine. Sergio given all that Mexican money that follows him should land at Haas. Makes so much sense.
Out of all the paid drivers I think Checo is the best. Hope he lands somewhere and I also hope it’s Haas. Pair him with an American driver eventually.
Been saying this since I saw Drive to Survive for the first time and seeing all the sponsors behind Checo. Haas needs checo. And then yeah, maybe an American driver down the line (although I couldn’t even begin to think who that would be) would be huge to have them be “north America’s team”
I don’t see an American driver on the horizon who has steam behind him financially or track speed. Haas best option would be Perez for the cash influx from his sponsors and getting one of the Ferrari academy kid who they are desperate to find a seat for. Basically you can do the seat for money that you turn around and use to update parts from Ferrari. Circle of F1 life if you will. Then pray Ferrari figures out some massive upgrade for its engine in the offseason.
Gasly was screwed over so badly last year by RBR that he deserves this 10x. He's a good driver. Also, I buy (maybe naively?) RBR's rationale of PG being too immature last year. I think Horner and Co. are smart about this. Rare "everyone wins" from this.
Should be a buyers market for a driver like Hulk in the offseason. Perez/Hulk at Haas? I know it won’t happen but how fun would that be?
I’m on that combo as well. Ferrari has a top kid ready for a seat. And they also have Mic. They could fill one of those two slots at Alpha next to Kimi. The other my thinking Mic would slide in well at Haas. I don’t think Mic has close to his dads talent so sliding him Haas gives him a better seat then Alpha but out of the Ferrari till he proves his worth.
/r/Formula1 is hyped up predicting that Seb will get the last laugh and announce the move to RP during Ferrari’s big 1000th GP weekend (which is also Seb’s 250th GP) I’m all aboard this hype train
Seb to Aston Martin official. That didn't take long. https://the-race.com/formula-1/vettel-joins-aston-martin-for-2021-f1-season/ https://the-race.com/formula-1/the-major-vettel-doubt-that-will-define-his-aston-era/
