Yeah I have a weather station at my house and I wish I could somehow link them so that it won’t skip if I don’t get rain
i know the davis instruments weather stations have an API, and you can get real time data from it, provided you can program and have lots of time on your hands
Perfect! Now all I need to do is figure out how to program and find a shit load of time I don’t have with a newborn at home. This is gonna be awesome.
Yea, there is an LCRA weather station within a stones throw of my yard, but the closest station I can connect my rachio to is 4.5 miles away Maybe the rain sensor is the way to go Rachios website warns that the rain sensor is a "reactive" way to cut watering while they prefer to be proactive using forecasts Yea, because forecasts are so good My rachio rain skip notifications said we have .75 inches forecast in the next 48 hours Local news says .16 inches over the whole weekend First rain was supposed to fall this evening, yet their aint been a cloud In the sky
We recently used behr marquee prime & paint in one to paint over some dark red faux leather painted walls I was super impressed Painted them a light gray, and if I was better with a roller it would have only taken one coat Fully expected to wake up the next day and see the dark bled through, but nope Totally worth the extra cost, which was really only like less than double the cost of a gallon of cheap stuff And I guarantee I would have had to put so many coats of the cheap stuff it would have cost more in the long run
Came back and said it would be $4800 all in. That's with using poplar board, 4x4s dug 36" deep, 11-gauge wire with a black coating, and all hardware. Still going to get a couple more quotes.
Getting my bark chips laid down in my yard. Lot is 7,300sf. Any idea of what I should expect to pay for this?
I just joined on tuesday and already I'm at like 6k+ in shit im looking at buying. on that note, anyone got recommendations for washer/dryer and fridge? Hoping to catch a good labor day sale.
apparently speed queens' quality control fell off of a cliff post 2018. leaning maytag commercial right now.
Their newer fridges aren't as shitty IMO. We got one 5 years ago and loved it. It stayed with our house when we sold a couple months ago, but only because we didn't know where we'd end up or if we'd need it since we didn't know where we were going to move. For a while they were absolutely garbage, but they have decent warranties on the sealed parts of the system in case something goes wrong. We also had a 9 yr old Samsung front load washer/dryer set that was just fine, but my wife regretted that she picked red, so we left those with the house as well. When we buy new for our new house, I don't think we'll eliminate Samsung from our choices.
Yeah I own one and no issues, ten times better than my front loader. Also talked to my buddy, appliance repair, and he fixes maybe 2 SQ a year max. I'll text him and ask him what he thinks are the biggest pieces of shit are.
Anyone apply for a mortgage lately? I'm wondering what the latest and greatest options are. My previous two purchases I didn't loan shop, looking to change that this time around. Is it at all beneficial to have a mortgage broker local to the area one wants to buy? I'm in Seattle now and looking to move to St Pete, surely the mortgage app can be filled out online. Should I use a national provider?
my brother and i are going halfsies on buying a house for my dad (we will be charging him rent for the mortgage, which is less than what he's paying now). he lives alone in a small rural town in KS and has been renting a dump for 7 years. House should be condemned. Our closing date was scheduled for 9/17. The lender scheduled an appraiser but there was a conflict of interest as the appraiser owns the realty company that my realtor works for. They've tried 4 other appraisers but none of them want to drive out there. My realtor found an appraiser that would be in town yesterday and could fit our house in but the lender couldn't because they contract it out to a 3rd party company and that company is highly selective about who they'll allow to appraise. So now our closing date is 9/30. A little bit pissed but out of our control so it is what it is.
do you have an HE model or with an agitator? I was leaning toward HE since my clothes don't really get all that dirty and i tend to do alot of laundry at once.
Jorts is the best game in town in florida. the deal he got me was so good the attorney do my closing was mentioning some stuff and he said "this is only important if you refinance, but looking at the deal you got, don't ever refinance"
Normally I'd say it's worthwhile shopping a national lender as well as a local one but when you've got trustworthy lenders on here and one that lends in Florida ( Jorts ) then I'd advise you to start there with Jorts. I'm sure he's got an online application you can do but worst case he could probably take your app over the phone in 10 minutes or less.
we were quoted $100 a yard that includes The granular underneath to prevent weeks and quality bark, not the stuff that is blown in. That sounds fair?
Likely getting future business from your Realtor as well... Thank you good sir & on your badass new home!
Public service announcement: While Fannie/Freddie pushed back their 0.500 point "Adverse Market Fee" until December 1, rates will jump up next week across the board on all refinances. Some banks/lenders already started their increases, as they are beyond volume capacity & they need to curb the flow of new business to allow them to close what they have in process before having to eat the 0.500% themselves & take huge losses. Essentially - Any loans sold by lenders to Fannie/Freddie after 12/1/2020, will be assessed a 0.500% fee & they don't want to eat it. Refinance now, if you haven't already
I cut back four very overgrown rose bushes this morning. I had a huge pile of cuttings from the first three and was getting into the fourth when I lost my balance. Arms flailing, windows rolling down, and I fell backwards into the pile of trimmings. My wife just pulled 8 thorns out of my back. I hope someone at least got to see that.
Okay boys, is there anything that can go here besides a sink? We are updating the basement on the new house and painting, new trim, carpet, etc. This opening is about 50 inches wide by 20 deep. The carpet will go to the tape, as that is even with that wall. There is a bathroom behind me, so the sink isn’t needed (this room will be a play room) but I don’t know what else to put there. Any bookcase, storage shelving, etc just seems it would look awkward there. Any other ideas?
If it is a playroom I would do built in cabinets for storage. If it was more for adults I would do a wet bar or wine storage.
