Just thinking today how a crowd would be for him too. Would be amazing atmospheres with him making this run.
Part of me is so confused as to why he got Dq'd for this because it looked like an accident (although he likely meant to hit it near her). At the same time, without Federer or Nadal playing, only fair he doesn't get a major win here.
I don't understand why people are confused about this. It isn't any different than any other sport. Hell, you accidentally bump an ump in baseball and basketball and you get tossed.
I think it's different for people because he's completely done for the tournament versus getting ejected for one game or something in another sport.
correct. I almost hit an opponent once in college doing the same thing. And I thought for sure I was going to get defaulted. You just can’t do shit like that. They should have came to a decision faster. Djoker shouldn’t be able to stand there and plead his case for 5 mins.
Also, a lines-person shouldn’t need to stand guard when a point ends to avoid being hit with a ball or racket. He had already smoked a ball a lot harder into a sidewall earlier.
The last thing tennis needed was another instance of rule-bending in favor of a top player. Especially in this situation where everyone knows Rog and Rafa aren’t here and what’s at stake for Novak
Agree 100% it would be very bad for them. Glad they did the right thing. McEnroe with an awful take there
Will be very interesting to see Shapo mental strength In 6 Goffin service games, Shapo has had a break chance in 4 of them.
Watching this entire match, I’ve seen Ramos overrule the lines people quite a bit and being right everytime. The last one was out quite a bit. I don’t understand why we need lines people in Ashe and Armstrong
That's a great lineup. Glad it's a holiday since I'm not going to get shit done. Also, lol at that Kyrgios tweet.
Federer knew what he was doing when he withdrew from tournaments though. Also Fed would've gotten 15 minutes to argue with a ten minute break in the middle and awarded an extra point.
Outside of that Tiebreaker and last service game, that was maybe the best match Shapo I’ve seen him play
That was fun. I’m good with an Osaka-Kontaveit matchup every tournament. That version of Naomi is almost impossible to beat.
I think this is probably Thiem's tournament to lose. Dude has a level of focus that I don't think the remaining players will match. Personally Rooting for FAA to go all the way.
I dont Thiem has looked that great so far. I personally think its Medvedev. I promise Im not getting my hopes up for a Shapo/FAA finals.
