Yeah I have a half sleeve on my left arm. That’s what I said, I was like wouldn’t I need 10 days to recover and come back. He said it would be 3 consecutive days
god speed. I assume he will probably work top down and not do one big outline. I couldn’t do it but more power to you if you can. I’d love to hear how it goes once you’re done.
I’m not up to date on current rates. My artist has been working on me for 20 years so he gives me a friend and family discount. While that does seem high when you put it that way, think about it this way. It’s not about how long on will take (breaking the cost down per hour) but how long you’ll have it (the rest of your life). Also why not consider breaking it down over time 2-3 weeks apart that way you’re not dropping 3 grand in a day or two but over a month or 2 and it psychologically doesn’t hurt as much.
17 hours also seems pretty quick. Maybe he's really fast. Those are pretty detailed black and white tattoos
I would absolutely pay that rate for the quality of work he is putting out. Are you going to him or is he coming to you? From his IG it looks like he travels for work but I’m curious how much he charges for that
Fuck doing back to back days. I had my pec/shoulder/sleeve done over 4 sessions and 2 months. By the end I was saying I’m not sure if I would ever get another tattoo.
not ideal. all skin types are different but my guy does tattoo shows and his biggest issue is he doesnt believe it heals well b2b. Having 2 weeks + off the skin will heal then go back in.
Hey my beard looks like that too! (Going gray, bushing out of the mask, needing the neckbeard shaved off)
after having all of my appointments earlier this year cancelled due to covid or travel im trying to make more but shes booked until 2022. so thats fun.
so looking back I think I would like additional shading work down in the bottom half and the sword however that tattoo was done during my last day living in Maine as I move to Texas. Is asking an artist to shade someone else’s work acceptable or should I wait until I’m back in Maine visiting next summer?
Wife started tattooing again after 15 years. Did her 10th tattoo today. Says she won't tattoo me until 50. I'll be covered once she starts on me.
It's a character from the Witcher books as she appears in one of the video games that is an unofficial sequel. Since I was a kid I have loved fantasy books and they remain my favorite form of escapism. The Witcher 3 video game in particular really helped give me a world to run away to in the last year when I was going through a really, really rough time
you can do cardio and yoga and stuff like that after about a week or so. You don’t want to lift (other than lower body) too soon. I honestly don’t do anything more than a light jog or bike ride for a couple weeks.
I went back to the gym immediately As long as you don't rub it against things y I I'll be fine. Just wash it well after. Hell, I rode my bike 8 miles home after one
you’re not supposed it’s not hygienic. It’s an open wound. Also were his us located the stress of any upper body work will be bad for it. I just like to be safe.
I kinda agree and get it, but I've always just kept it out of contact with anything and made sure to give it a good cleaning asap and been fine. Just make sure it isn't rubbing anything
to me imo it’s just easier and safer not to go to the gym than worry about what you shouldn’t do. To me imo that’s what I do.
My guy sent me a draft of what he’s thinking about for my half sleeve. Cormac McCarthy is my favorite author, and No Country is my favorite book. Obviously, this is heavier on some movie elements but I’m digging it.
dont do this either. You want it to breathe and start to heal. You need to wash it and start putting whatever ointment you’re putting on It after 3-4 hours.
