Anybody else gotten the whoop band? Just got mine today. Takes a few days for data to really calibrate but so far it's been a great heart rate monitor for the bike.
While I'm waiting for my bike to be delivered, apartment opened up their gym to 1 person at a time but you can only go twice a week. I just did my first HIIT workout and fell in love with Kendall.
Just did a 60 minute with Emma. Been a while since I did a ride that long. Great ride and BAE makes time fly.
Yup had mine for a few weeks. I think the data calibration begins at 4 days but really completes after about a month. Really impressive.
Have had whoop for over a year. Love it. I don't use it for my HR on the peloton though since I have a chest strap.
Had mine for a few days. Still learning how to use all the info. Apparently it takes some time to calibrate.
There's a 30 minute Kendall metal ride that seemed perfectly suited to get me pedaling out of my mind. Started with "Freak on a Leash," dropped some Godsmack, Disturbed, and Metallica and she dropped "My Own Summer" in the middle and she started going nuts on the bike. About half way through she said something like "Yeah, I know you're all a little freaky to be in this class right now, I'm a little freaky myself..." She's pulling close with Emma as my #1
She is a Los Angeles/ Cali girl and loves it. She would be a close second but her being a Trojan keeps her a distant 3 or 4th.
Went off campus this weekend. For our 9th anniversary we went did a detox/retox weekend. Did a 90 minute hot yoga this morning. I've done a ton of yoga on peloton but that shit kicked my ass. I almost tapped out. Ran a 75 minute peloton yoga on my app just to get credit.
We are on week 2 of our Peloton. We mainly got it for my wife, as I do crossfit 5x a week. I have done two rides so far and really enjoy it. Don't have much to add other than it's a neat little machine.
Articles coming about the release of a new bike and tread. Seems like the biggest bike upgrade is the adjustable tablet so you can more easily do other workouts off the bike. Goes along with offering bootcamp classes on the bike sometime soon. Also a smaller treadmill which will be under $3,000 but will have a normal belt and not the slats.
Only having the screen on the Bike+ rotate 90 degrees is a huge miss. In my current configuration, that wouldn’t work from me. There’s no way I’d pay $700 more to get automatic cadence (I ride over instructor recommendation anyway), bigger screen or better speakers (use headphones). The Apple Watch synching is cool, but not worth the money.
Auto cadence might be cool if you could set your goal ahead of time, e.g. 10+ over called cadence. Highly doubt this bike will do that though.
I’m curious if there will be preset options for easy, average and hard. How else would the bike auto-set when the instructor gives ranges? Easy would be the lower end, average middle and hard high.
Email just came out. New bike with swivel screen and smaller tread. New bike boot camp classes and a trade in program for the bike.
Yes they will be. Also from their Instagram announcement I am guessing the auto resistance will be what is called for in class. We currently don’t have a setup for the bootcamp stuff which is the biggest appeal but probably not going to upgrade.
It’s like 1900 after the 700 for the old bike. You can get 39 month no interest for like 65 bucks a month.
If it is within 30 days you can exchange and only pay the difference. If it is 31 days or greater supposedly no go. They have gotten enormous amount of shit for not pre-announcing.
How so? There has to be a cutoff at some point. You make it 60 days, and people on the 61st day get screwed. They did more than they had to by offering a $350 refund for people who are within the 30 day period and want to keep the existing bike.
my bike is still in perfect condition. Doesn’t seem worth it to me. Especially if it’s just for a swivel on the screen.
Was expecting a major upgrade and this isn't one. $700 for a swivel mount and iwatch connectivity is stupid. I'd buy the bike I have discounted.
Unfortunately it’s 1900 for those upgrades you only get a $700 credit towards the purchase of the new bike. it seems to also have a better sound system but I used headphones so that is meaningless to me. I like the upgrade to bike boot camps. I’ve been doing strength and bike classes separately so it will be cool to have them incorporated in one workout. I kinda wish they’d sell the upgrade to be able to install the screen on my current bike. But, I think most current owners would just opt for that option.
I'm more upset about the bike I got in June/July getting reduced to $1,900 from $2,300 than I am about missing out on the new bike. This bike is great functionality wise, and as other people have said, if the only update is the swivel screen, that doesn't mean much to me. That being said, even if I would have known I could have gotten the bike in early July, or waited until 9/9 and order it for $400 cheaper for an October/November delivery, I think these few months might have honestly been worth the money. Gyms closed here again and I was really getting sick of trying home workouts I didn't like or trying to go for runs in the neighborhood, and getting better on the bike has given me a bizarre sense of purpose since July. Maybe I'd feel differently if I got the bike right outside the 30-day window, but I have no regrets getting it in July.
Any of you newbs want to go in an old school mileage challenge? I’m back on my old 100-mile a week pace.
I’m definitely going to be arguing with them over the $400 reduction. I received my bike on July 31st. My original delivery date was August 15th and I moved it up. No way I would’ve moved the date up 2 weeks if I knew I was getting a $400 discount for waiting.
