Natalya and Lana are the worst wrestlers I have ever seen. Bianca just chilling in the back as these losers get ring time.
Da fuck just happen. Ref botched that ending. Ricochet the greatest jobber in WWE History. He could be a champion anywhere else.
Was that ending botched? Ricochet obviously thought it wasn’t supposed to end right then with how he kicked out
Apparently they went to the finish early because Ivar fucked up his neck on the suicide dive. I didn’t notice it but I guess you could see him throwing up an X while he was on the floor which is what prompted the quick count and finish
Retribution interview was decent last night. Not sure if she ultimately is in the group but Mia is clearly a part of the crew she was in the front on the left. such a large roster doing multiple segments with the same wrestlers just drags the show down for me. Do like the addition of Cedric to the Hurt Business.
I haven't watched much raw lately, but I read recaps to keep up in case I decide to start watching again. It seems like raw has the same matches over and over again
I mean how else are you going to give wrestlers wins back. It’s kind of hard to 50/50 book if you only wrestle once
They have gone with some longer storylines but the RAW ones probably needed to come to an end after summer slam. A few haven’t and it defiantly makes the show dull. Smackdown has been the much much better show since Heyman left RAW. And it’s pretty easy two hours of viewing.
Balor and Cole had a really good match with Balor being crowned champion. Enjoying NXT. They had some strong numbers last week. Will be interesting if they match or improve this week if a full move to Tuesday’s is in the cards.
I actually enjoy AEW and NXT not being on the same night. I can enjoy both live and not have to watch one or the other either late at night or in the early AM.
Same, Rhea doesn’t do anything for me. She had some momentum around Mania but the more you see of her the more I dislike. The entire presentation is meh and she needs major work on the mic.
Yep, I can only imagine they would each get ratings boast from not being head to head. There has to be a huge amount of overlap in their audiences
CFO$ was responsible for the vast majority of the theme music coming out of NXT that people loved. They are no longer with the company and it’s why so many themes have been altered or changed entirely. Don’t think WWE owned the master and didn’t want to pay.
WWE is allowing talents to keep programs with YouTube and things like upupdowndown but they can’t use the “character names” they can go by government names. Makes sense and all that drama without knowing the facts seem overblown now.
Wonder what that does for people like Shayna Baszler and Jessamyn Duke. pretty sure they both are gamers and stream/use youtube and their character names are their government names
I think UUDD is probably going to be able to get around even that. Creed has always done that because he's on top of the game, but they have nothing but WWE talent, and Steph/H have been on the channel. In truth, it's better for the talent, I think, to use their real names so WWE doesn't try to claim something is theirs, but I get trying to draw views with your WWE name.
I know he changed it, but he only did because of the WWE character, which is why he didn't win the copyright for it
That’s not true. He chooses not to use it. WWE no longer owns the trademark it’s been nearly a year since it’s been dropped
I see how that was unclear, but I meant the name already existed under wwe. He wouldn't have changed it to that, had the character of Dusty Rhodes not been a thing.
Good question, the report I saw didn’t mention the wrestlers using a government issued name. Maybe you see them get a altered character name in spelling or the often loved just dropped last name lol
I forgot about that, but he did have a skirmish with the WWE about it for a period there after he left. I think after he left, but before AEW was official, but it was clear he was looking at starting something.
WWE owned trademark from his time in WWE. There is a holding period of 6 months from expiration of trademark before Cody could file for it himself. Neither WWE or Cody has attempted to file for the name in nearly a year. Nobody is stopping Cody from using it. He’s obviously getting more mileage out of just being Cody. Cody has said as much in interviews over the past year.
This isn't correct at all. He was trying to get his last name back as early as April-May of this year and WWE filed for the trademark again and blamed the delay on Covid after Cody filed for it two days earlier. WWE’s trademark for “Cody Rhodes” was set to expire on April 13th. Cody put in an application on that same day to register his name. PW Insider reports that WWE applied for a renewal on that trademark on May 15th. They claimed that COVID-19 kept them from filing sooner. Now Cody’s application has been rejected because it is the same name WWE owns. Cody’s application of the ‘Cody Rhodes’ trademark has been given an initial refusal, because of similarity with WWE’s registration of the same trademark. In checking with WWE’s registration, which was set to expire on April 13 (the same day Cody started his application), they actually renewed it on May 15th claiming the delay was due to COVID-19.
I was going off of this article posted late April... https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbr.com/cody-rhodes-name-trademark-wwe/amp/ Maybe things have changed
I swear he used it for a minute on the indies. Maybe when he first got to Japan. May have just been the announcers and not him using it, idk.
I don’t understand wwe fighting over the trademark from a business prospective. Seems like a shitty move.
It’s dumb, but in Vince’s world, no one has ever heard of anyone until they make it on WWE TV, so he believes he deserves ownership of their IP for making those people a brand.
The wrestling industry somehow managed to take the worst aspects of business, entertainment and politics and combine them into one truly awful dish. What the WWE in particular does is inexcusable, but at the same time, I have little sympathy for anyone that willingly gets involved with the business. It’s not like these business practices are a secret.
