It's to be expected that soft tissue injuries will go hand in hand along with players missing time with Covid concerns.

He certainly looks the part these days. You can't always tell by that, but great edge rushers seem to have a build and he fits it. Which is funny, because he's one of the many that I seem to recall the writers saying would have to bulk up and play SDE in college.

I'll say one thing, I know we hate our 3 star prospects, but I really wish Mike Elston had Duke's Chris Rumph II in his crew.

  7. I've liked Foskey a lot since high school, didn't think he would show this early though. Hopefully he keeps it up. And I love 3 stars as long as they have athletic traits and I trust the position coach we have will develop them. Better than some of the 4 stars Weis got that look like they plateaued in high school and had no room for growth as a player

I'm cool if they end up paying Elston more than the coordinators if that's what it takes to keep him as DL coach. Hell, paint him on the side of the library. I'd say put him on the dome, but let's not piss off mother.

Re-watched this morning, it wasn't as bad as I thought live. Lots of stuff to work on but the bones are there. The WR's need to figure something out quick and Book just needs tot calm the fuck down.

Nothing has really changed for me 11/7 is the day.

Prediction remains the same, but if this team doesn’t improve considerably between now and then, Clemson is going to destroy us.

book looked more poised when he first came in for winbush 3 years ago. When he had no idea what was going on, can’t believe he thought he had a shot at the nfl at any point in his life. Nd will never go anywhere unless this qb situation gets fixed.

i liked the overall talent, this team is fast and fun.

Feeling the same. I watched quite a bit of CFB yesterday and one thing is clear with the small sample available so far - the lack of a spring and oft-interrupted fall camps has left a lot of offenses I'll prepared for the season. Ours is no different. The part that concerns me is Book's anxiousness. He should be beyond this. The OL was not great rushing, but was better in pass pro than ot appeared live. Book had chances to step up and throw and had more openings than he saw. Playcalling needs to adjust in the running game, too. Too many calls into the boundary and the teeth of the defense. Playcalling in the passing game wasn't bad. Book rushed some throws, the screens were there and missed and there were a couple bad drops.

Mayer looks like the ghost of Cole Kmet.

maybe kmet made them realize that you can just give a te the ball sometimes. And these guys are not at Nd forever, no point in trying to save eligibility for a guy like Mayer. Use him

I don’t understand book being this panicky again, he is a huge problem

I have nothing against Analzone. I'm happy he's back. The guy is always getting injured it's hard to not appreciate his will to keep playing.

    But his name remains Analzone.

    https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-predicting-every-nfl-teams-2020-breakout-player

NEW YORK GIANTS: CB JULIAN LOVE

Love is as versatile a secondary player as they come. He didn’t see substantial action as a rookie in 2019 until Week 12 but played well while logging over 75 snaps in the box, in the slot and at deep safety. Love produced a 70.5 PFF grade in that span, ranking 26th among qualifying safeties. This year, Love is likely to stick at safety to start for the Giants, but don’t rule him out at cornerback given the state of the unit. That’s where Love spent his three-year career at Notre Dame and was one of the best at the position.

In his last season at Notre Dame, Love was the fourth-highest graded cornerback in the FBS on the outside, tying for eighth in forced incompletions (17). His size is a minor concern and he may not have blazing speed, but Love is still an incredibly smooth athlete with the ball skills to thrive on the outside if given the opportunity. Whether he plays there, nickel or deep, Love should have a decent Year 2 ahead with the experience he now has at every position.

No reason to play him. Work in DJ Brown and Griffith more to get some more experience the next two games and have him ready for the middle stretch of games. Also, put him in a bubble in the meantime.
