JT is great until he misses a few putts he thinks should have gone in. That’s gonna happen all over the place here.
Played in my member/member this past weekend. 2 man scramble. Finished 2nd, 1 shot back. Still sour about all the putts we missed
No he’s just acting like it’s his home course cause he played there once and got a birdie on one hole while shooting a 174
no. Just meant here as in the course they are playing but wouldn’t expect Bert to not act like an asshole
Does anyone have insight on how they set the pairings? Like who/what has input on them? I always assumed it was some combo of tv interests (I.e. “featured groups”) and world ranking.
the organizing body has full discretion over the pairings, so normally the PGA Tour but in this case the USGA. Of course TV is going to play a huge part for those featured group players. Also, players give a ton of input about who they don't want to play with, and the organizers try to listen to that as much as possible. Source: Max Homa's podcast and other interviews with players/USGA officials I've listened to.
Joel Dahman did a good job of explaining how the Tour goes out of their way to always put him and Sung Kang on opposite sides of the draw which also basically makes it impossible to be paired in the 3rd Round as well. Him and Kang argued about where Kang was taking a lateral drop for like 15 minutes during a tournament last year when they were paired together.
Hmm everyone said they didn’t want to play with Patrick reed, can we just send him out as a solo? Spoiler I figured saying Bryson would be too on the nose and give him the break
Joel Dahmen said there was a player he kept getting matched up with in a previous year (wouldn't identify the player) so he asked the tour and the answer was basically "you are one of the only people who hasn't asked not to play with him."
besides random fans who offered to put him up, people showed him marriott hotels in the area for like $129.
Yeah I mean there are plenty of hotels within 15 minutes of the course that nobody else is staying in right now, so prices should be super low. Not sure why it’s that big of a deal given no fans this weekend.
