Not enough for me. I mean, he'd be the best center on the roster, but I see Danault more as an elite 3rd line center. And we'd have to pay more money than I'd like to keep him after this season.
Weber is a #1D and the captain of the team. Subban was traded and barely played at a 2nd pairing level the last two years. So yes, they have. No idea why you’re even arguing.
subban was a 1st d pairing player that went to the Cup final. Shea Weber is on a shitty team that shouldn’t have even made the playoffs this year
If you are one of the best players on one of the best teams, that matters. If you are the best player on a shitty team...well someone has to be the best player.
jesus dude. Who do you think people would pick right now, Weber or subban? Weber is a fucking assistant on team canada if they play in the olympics tomorrow morning while subban is doing his podcast talking about them.
My first post was clearly about advanced stats projecting subban as a better player in the long run but even if we judge the trade in its entirety mtl won it. Nashville did go to the scf with subban and even during that year or right after, Weber was the better player on a worst team. Mtl wasn’t all that great with subban the last year he played in mtl either. An argument could even be made that Nashville would’ve had a better shot at winning the cup with Weber instead of subban. and that’s not even taking into account that Weber is one of the most respected leader in the nhl, his impact is even greater than just on the ice. But since you want to judge the trade in it’s entirety I should include that fact too
And I like subban, I think he will bounce back either with the devils or with a better team. It’s hard for a d to play on such a shitty team and look good
When PK Subban was finishing 3rd in the Norris voting and Weber was playing 26 games, it was actually Weber who was the better player. I know, the white guy is a great leader and the black guy is a problem in the locker room.
Are you that dumb? Read again and come back to me. You said let’s judge the trade in its entirety. Well I did. And hockey wise Weber is a better hockey player, you keep trying to change the argument. Not me forget about color, although that seems very hard for you. Who do you think is the better leader?
right and the guy who scored more, had better metrics, finished higher in Norris voting, and lead his team to more success is somehow is the worse player because of leadership
That player still plays for Nashville? Or is he that good anymore? Since the trade when you take It in its entirety, Weber has been the better player. That’s a pretty good fucking trade for mtl
no, but you sais entirety. They don’t have him anymore. They traded weber for one and half good year of subban
I mean, he’s trying to call us racists for bringing up Weber’s leadership though we both loved Subban, and were both against the trade at the time. And the guy literally voted for Donald Trump. Jenniferlawrenceokay.gif
Good, but let’s refrain from calling people racists for stupid shit like you just did. Subban is definitely not a bad leader himself, I never said that. But Weber is on another level
Weber is still a #1 D, Subban hasn’t been for 2 years. Plus, Weber will be making 3M in 2 years, and then 1M per for the rest of his contract. He’ll either still be playing at a high level, will be easily tradeable, or will retire.
The trade worked out for both teams. Habs wanted out from PK and his antics; Poile and Weber hated each other. Both got moved before it got ugly.
who cares about actual dollars? Also pretty sure if he retires they face a recapture penalty unless it’s due to injury
Low budget teams, hence the tradeable part of the argument. And Nashville gets the recapture penalty, not Montreal.
Depends how desperate an owner is. Dorion would add a 2nd rounder to secure a big contract with a low cash number.
If Weber plays 2 more years, Montreal owes nothing, since the salary paid by Montreal will be lower than the cap hit. https://www.nashvillepost.com/sport...shea-weber-injury-news-could-affect-predators
i don’t know, I am talking from a goalie perspective and it really doesn’t matter. He was late reading that play. Vasy has the best athletic attributes I have ever seen for a goalie though. So I expect him to get there even if he reads the play a little late. He read that way too late, it happens. He will get there, no doubt in my mind. The guy is unreal
