Yeah, people are pretty upset with Koulibaby not seeming like it’s going to happen. On one hand, he wouldn’t have been my first choice to sign but I think he would start for us based on what else we have. On the other hand he wasn’t exactly cheap so hard to complain about him starting
De Laurentis is a pain in the ass to negotiate with, like Aulas at Lyon. Napoli doesn’t strike me as a team that can turn down a huge fee in this climate. You’ll eventually pay what it takes because you have unlimited funds.
Agree on Ake being third choice. My problem with him is that he’s not that tall and not very good in the air for a CB. Given the way City presses, I presume most teams try to beat them over the top, which magnifies those two issues.
The numbers we’ve seen highlighted the most are how poor he is in the air and that he was tied for 1st in the league with 0 errors leading to a goal (or maybe 0 leading to shot on target) Ideally someone else is signed but if not, with how many errors we’ve seen leading to breakaways by Otamendi, Mendy, Stones, and Walker last few seasons it seems like we’re willing to take the bad for the good
If we sell Brewster and bring in Sarr I’m ok with it.. but that’s the only scenario I’m good with selling Brewster. I don’t want a season of Origi as our winger off the bench.
yeah I think we’re all over origi on the left. If we get a good fee, I’m good with selling. He really doesn’t fit our system at the moment. Great prospect with tons of talent, but I don’t see it happening for him here anytime soon.
Yeah. Stuck behind Trent and Neco at RB and not really tall enough to compete at CB. Sad to see him go, but it is what it is.
I’m all for any sale like this being slightly cheaper but having buy back clauses unless they feel really set at the positions these young guys play. This is one of those cases where I’m cool with maximizing value. Brewster better have a buy back.
Wolves could be Bournemouth and Southampton rolled in 1 - can sell youngsters to them and then buy talent from them.
Course, Sarr was playing in a bad Watford side and Wolves are good. Don't have to worry about AFCON with Jota though.
Sounds like we're doing what we did at LB. Looks like we have a few options we like and will deal with whoever will play ball.
He looked ok on the ball a bit but Schalke are getting lapped by Bayern right now so I’m not sure how to rate him.
Think we'd need to sell around 4-5 players before buying after Jota. Just to get the squad size down as much as raise money.
