I honestly don't know enough about the tactics to post as a person of knowledge in this thread but I've been following the team for 6-7 years now. Buddy of mine got me into hockey and I haven't stopped watching. First playoff Hockey I ever got into was the LA Kings upset of San Jose back in like 2014. I couldn't stop watching. Kind fell in love with the sport. Just don't know shit about the tactics of it. But I'm getting better. It's just fun to watch and obviously I adopted the closest team to me as my team. Obviously a Lightning fan was the one who sent me down this path
Yes he actually is. For the last couple years, he fell in love with the playoffs. He’s basically our own Tony X
Been even longer than that... Did you even meet Dylan? I think you were gone by then Hell I took my Dad to a fucking Lightning playoff game.
I hear ya, fam. Best of luck to your squad in the SCF. I’ll admit that, personally, I’m a bit bummed, because I’d prefer teams that actually reside in areas that experience freezing conditions to be in it, but that’s just my weird bias.
Islanders gave the Bolts all they could handle. Lightning certainly did more in the series offensively but the Isles just wouldn’t quit and they don’t make it easy. There are some good pieces to build around but they need more scoring depth up front and on the back end. With Lou and Trotz they’ll be a playoff team the next few years. I’m glad the arena situation is finally settled as well. Good run by your club. I can’t even think of the next series right now, what a grind this was. I’m more relieved there’s not a game 7 than happy the Lightning won the East. This core has been through so much the last 5 years to get back to this point, it’s time to finish the job.
im the same way. I love hockey but I would get roasted talking scheme and all that. Probably my favorite playoff sport honestly
Just caught up on the game. Varly was great but he got caught cheating on wraparounds three times and it eventually did them in. Can't wait for the final
It’s a joke if anyone else wins the Norris. (the Norris is a joke for all the year that Lidstrom didn’t win then they gave him one late that he didn’t deserve). It’s an all-around defenseman trophy but way too much emphasis on points sullies it’s reputation when people like Karlsson win it. Chara obviously should never have won it and those years when Blake/MacInnis/Pronger won it over lidstrom is the late 90s was embarrassing. Niedermayer also was a poor choice that year. Wasn’t even a top 5 season of his career.
Been asked for like the past 3-4 years. Have helped put once a week but one of these years I’ll jump in when it’s a good spot.
Been doing it since I had to stop playing. Love it even if my players frustrate the shit out of me 95% of the time.
i am way too lazy to yell at them the practices I did I was just shooting at them and try to score on these little shithead(and I did most of the time) and maybe correct a few things they do. But once I see that blank stare I just move on.
With the game last night the lightning broke the record set by the New Jersey devils in 1994 of most overtime minutes played in a single playoffs. Already over 3 full games of overtime so far these playoffs.
Coaching hockey is great except for the parents. Its crazy, it starts at age 7-8 and doesn't get any better over time
Sens should just steal the uniforms from the Eden Hall Warriors Edit: I misremembered and those had an Indian head not an actual warrior, teelsy regrets the error
How long have Islanders fans been waiting for something to cheer for? They actually stalked the team flight from Edmonton and were at the airport to welcome the team home.
lmao people are really offering me $150 each for tickets to a watch party at aac that i got for free for being a season ticket holder hockey town confirmed
The way that's worded makes it seem like the AAV isnt an issue for Pietrangelo, which is hard to believe.
Naw. No chance he was ok with that AAV. Josi got 9 AAV. Pre-Covid, but still. He's the #1 D-man on the UFA market and it's not close. Longterm, Blues are doing the right thing letting him walk, but it 100% narrows and maybe even closes their cup window.
I think it's the right offer if you care about not having an anchor on your cap the last 3-4 years of the deal. but It's 100% not enough to sign a top end defenseman. I don't blame Pietrangelo in the slightest for giving that contract the but STL is doing good business here for their org. He's really good, but I don't think he's in that all time tier where paying him into his 30s is going to end well.
I interpret it at, they will do a deal at 7.7AAV and figure out the structure later. That's a laughable offer considering the money really isn't very close.
I'd be willing to bet the StL offer was only for 4 or 5 years. 7.7 AAV starts getting really risky in the middle 30s for d men who have had no reservations about dropping down and blocking 160 shots per season.
He should not sign that, but this COVID thing must be so infuriating for these guys. He would’ve gotten 10 a year
It’s gonna suck to see them walk, but it’s probably for the best. It will still suck. Especially when he plays great for the next 3-4 years
