Oh sorry. Each spot was $200 unless you bought multiples, in which case they were $195. I had 2 spots and 2 spots were unfilled
Yeah especially since it was $300 retail when released in 2016. Only heard good things, it’s been a dream bottle for awhile
Just a regular off the shelf bottle I would say just ok. Did try a store pick one that our local bourbon group did that was absolutely delicious.
I like it as an after dinner pour. Sprayberry Bottle Shop in Atlanta did a store pick called Twix bar and it no lie tastes exactly like a Twix.
Found both a Knob Creek 15 year ($100) and Knob Creek 12 year ($60) today at a store in North Carolina. Went with the 15 year because I rarely see 15 year labels in the wild... did I make the right choice? Worth going back for the 12 year? They also had a Yellowstone 2020 limited edition small batch that they said was rare, but they also talked about the Yellowstone TV show so I passed
Somebody smarter about this stuff than me will have to answer. The store pick 15 yrs are 20 proof higher, half the price, and delicious.
I was very hesitant given the price difference between the 15 and 12 year. Breaking Bourbon says the 12 is better, but other blogs say this is better. All say it’s really oaky, which makes sense
yeah the store picks are a great value and tasty and half the price, I haven't seen the KC LE so not sure if thats a good deal or not. The yellowstone is supposed to be solid I see it for about $35
That’s the first thing that popped out at me. Same proof as a regular bottle. Only store pick ive gotten is same age as normal bottle but it’s 120 proof.
Had a pour... ok two pours of this tonight. I’m not good at self control. I also don’t plan on reselling anything I win. These were made to be enjoyed.
I bought one a couple of months ago. I opened it and it was a lot hotter than I was expecting for the 115 proof. I need to revisit it actually now that it’s been opened a while.
Had some more of the store pick 1792 Full Proof last night, and I am really impressed with that bottle at $45. I’ll take that any day of the week over Larceny BP, and it’s easier to get AND cheaper.
that’s what I was afraid of. I have a Woodinville barrel pick that’s similarly hot. That one is 5 years old which I bet is around the same age as the Old Elk.
If the thread could please send their mind energy at the Illinois state lottery for a 3 or a 9 tonight I’d appreciate it. If one of those doesn’t hit I’m done for a week lol
I like all of the KC store picks I have (between 11-15 yrs) better than the 15yr LE. And I rank the 12 above the 15 and some of the store picks I have. I’ve turned into a knob creek whore. Just picked up an 11yr SP that Freddie Noe selected for the store and I might like it the most of all of them.
