Yeah, stupid-ass rule for a global brand. And it's not like any board/president is going to enthusiastically try and change it either. Why would any of them try and make it easier to censure them and kick them out?
Looks like they might have gotten all the necessary signatures after a huge last minute push. We'll know tomorrow
In case you needed to brush up on the motion of censure proceedings, this is a good read https://www.espn.com/soccer/spanish...s-next?platform=amp&__twitter_impression=true
Puig situation was certainly disappointing to hear this morning, but Koeman is not necessarily out of line or anything. After he clarified it after today's game, he said it will be hard for Riqui to get minutes on his team. Well yeah, when you think about it. We're running a 4-2-3-1 now with Trincão, Griezmann, Coutinho and Messi making up those attacking positions and de Jong and Busquets playing the middle in a double pivot. Riqui is a midfielder and no longer fits into this setup BUT Koeman said it's important for a good young player like Riqui to get lots of minutes. Wants him to go on loan "because he has a bright future at the club". Koeman knows he is not a long term solution. He's here and allowed to do some things his way but he'll be gone under the next board/end of the season or next, some time. Our midfield went from needing like 6 midfielders to like 3. Riqui, Carles Aleña, and Pedri don't have a place, RIGHT NOW. But they are all very promising young guys who I hope we loan out or have some concrete plan to buy back in a little while.
I really think the 4-2-3-1 will work well with the talent we have and I’m very excited to watch it. I predict this feeling lasts approximately 3 halves.
If you really buy him for the rumored 38M, you are getting ripped off by like 15M. But also if he leaves for 38M, I will kiss you.
i think semedo would have been more effective this year having a more consistent presence on the right wing, but this move is best for all parties
Sounds like Semedo to Wolves for 32-35M, should be announced tomorrow. Great deal for us. Also, El Pistolero leaving to Atleti on a free. He's taking only a portion of his owed salary for the year. That was a big sticking point for him, he wanted it all. I'm saddened to see him leave this way. What an absolute baller he has been for us. I wish we could have gotten some value out of him, but it frees up millions in wages. Between Saurez, Rakatic, and Vidal leaving we've freed up like 45M in yearly wages. Now to get rid of Umtiti and his 12M salary...
Also, 2 hour meeting between Saurez and his team and Bartomeu and some other members. Saurez leaving on a free to Atleti for a 2 year contract. Madrid will pay Barcelona 2M if they reach the Champions League quarterfinals. So we could MAYBE make 4M off this.
He made a lot of runs that went unnoticed. Honestly kinda felt the same about Messi for much of the match, which I actually like to see were capable of putting up 4 without him having one or two stunners.
It’s not coming from any reliable journalists yet but we are apparently trying to sell Dembele to United.
Apparently he's United's 2nd choice after Sancho. Dortmund refused a 90M offer for Sancho. IF, and this is a big if, United make a move for Dembele (those stupid bastards), then we need to hardball them on the price. Get as much fucking value out of Dembele as possible. But no way he wants to leave. He gets paid millions to stay in rehab/the trainer. If he goes to another team they might have expectations and demand performance put of him.
Also might be trying to throw Rafinha in to "sweeten" the Garcia deal. I will lose a lot of respect for City if they get duped like that.
Something I noticed today.nits the old guys that rely too heavily on Messi. Alba and Busquets are out there playing like every single pass MUST involve Messi. Forcing shit or just wasting passes. The young guys, Fati, Coutinho, de Jong, Griezmann involve him when he's the option, but they're not forcing the play through him. That's a good sign for the longer term.
And I think. Coutinho relearned that from his Bayern time. When he came to Barca from Liverpool he was surrounded by the Club de Amigos and every "knew" the plan was to get the ball to Messi no matter what.
It’s infuriating watching Alba play blind passes intended for Messi into the box a dozen times a game. I’m glad we got Dest, but I would have loved to move on from Alba too. Countinho looks good; Antoine better start doing something or he needs to sit.
Was incredibly frustrating last year when Suarez and Messi would clearly ignore Griezmann at all costs.
frenkie is playing like hes drunk, attack is littered with poor passing, touches, and decision-making hopefully they get things straightened out and take advantage of the fortunate first half scoreline
Seriously have no idea why Dembele is getting blackballed. We have no one like him on the roster. Puig getting shut out as well. Koeman seems like the stubborn old dude who never changes his mind on players
My biggest fear tbh. Seems like managerial favorites are already being established. I’m glad Pedri & Trincao are getting minutes, but that kind of blows the whole “there isn’t any minutes for Puig” theory out of the water. Especially since De Jong was moved to the no. 10 (Puig’s preferred position) once Pjanic was subbed in. De Jong had a stinker and should have been taken off. Also, start giving Dembele the minutes that are going to Griezmann. I’m going to be pissed if the club/Koeman treat Araujo as they did Todibo.
Memphis Depay = almost certainly coming Eric Garcia = high probability Dembele = high probability he's leaves Umtiti = no buyers Todibo = high probability
