This dropped last night. You deserve someone to show you mercy. From the creator of American Horror Story, witness the origin of one of the world's most iconic characters, Nurse Ratched. Sarah Paulson stars in Ratched, coming to Netflix on September 18. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7423538/ An origins story, beginning in 1947, following Nurse Mildred Ratched's journey and evolution from nurse to full-fledged monster, tracking her murderous progression through the mental health care system.
Googled this to see the reception and the first review said it was basically the worst AHS season, which is pretty hard to wrap my head around
I finished Kingdom today and loved it. The story lines are so-so but the characters are amazing. Feel bad for Jonathan Tucker (Jay) because he has been in two great shows that didn’t get the recognition they deserve. I really like Paul Walter Hauser (Keith, Richard Jewell, Stingray) too. Thanks for recommending because that’s not something I would have watched.
watched it Friday night thought it was pretty good for what it was (Netflix movie) agree that a series would’ve been better. Really would like to seen more of the serial killers
Yes yes and yes. Just like fellow old man Daniel Ocean, I was friends with Tom back in Myspace but haven't had a shred of social media presence (aside from this board if that counts ) in twenty years. The power of social media in daily life, the weaponization of the algorithms and access they provide, and the spiking depression and division in our country are themes only in their infancy. This shit is going to get so much worse before it gets better. The bright spot of that documentary was the Little Dicky lookin' fellow and the social media ethics group he started. I'm hopeful, but realistic given the gobs of revenue generated by these platforms.
I was actually hoping to see some good discussion on that documentary on this board. You can not argue with the dopamine feedback loop that people are caught up in with these apps. Everyone going deeper and deeper into their echo chambers and only interacting with sensationalized content that keeps them engaged while re-affirming their positions. This is Ted fucking Turner's fault iyam. Had to monetize the news cycle...
I didn’t even have MySpace. I never got the allure of reconnecting with people I had not seen in a while. I figured if I hadn’t seen or spoken to someone in years well my life and theirs was fine so why ruin a good thing.
Exactly why I've always been indifferent to Facebook. Myspace was the jam for finding new artists/bands back in the day, but I just never got hooked. Regardless, I do feel bad for kids that are stuck in the middle of this (and parents trying to responsibly raise their children in the social media age.) There's a whole generation and a half that has validation tied to likes, shares, and retweets.
Wait, I do watch YouTube. I also view a few Reddit subs like r/watchexchange. I don’t upload content though.
I said no thanks when I read it was the worst season of American Horror Story. That show has had some downright awful seasons.
Agreed, I thought that series started off awesome and had a ton of potential. Stopped in the middle of one season and it was so fucking dumb we never went back. side note, how is Fargo? Another that started really strong but got dumber than shit.
The score and dialog in the The Social Network is so good. Rewatching it never gets old. Only on Netflix for a few more days.
Added Umbrella Academy, High Score, Speed Cubers, Feed Phil and Halt & Catch Fire to watch list from here. The previous post from Gin Buckets on where to stream Alone - can someone update because I can't find Seasons 1-2 online on prime/netflix/hulu (prime is $ now)
Yea Hulu has 3-6 and Netflix only has 6. Since it's a reality TV show does watching the seasons out of order make a difference? I'd think not but will hold off on viewing until this is confirmed
Season 1: Season 2 looks to be behind a pay wall now . If you have a cable login, you can watch all 7 seasons on History.com with commercials.
The only reason it may make a difference is some later seasons refer to early season winners, and runner ups. So you could spoil earlier seasons if you watch them out of order. I was able to watch Season 7 on Hulu, but I have Hulu live- so that may make a difference.
It’s awesome. I somehow got on a big foreign language series kick and I’d rank it among my favorites.
I know I’m behind on this but just plowed through Cobra Kai and that was some of the most enjoyable tv I’ve watched in some time. Karate Kid was a pretty big deal for me growing up so I’m glad they did it right.
