This is the 3rd time in the Rodgers era that the Packers have scored 40+ points in back-to-back games. Each of the previous 2 times (2011 & 2014), Rodgers went on to win the NFL MVP Award that season Things are looking bright for Rodgers and the Packers' offense in 2020
Next week is going to be a big time test. Really couldn’t have asked for anything more these first two weeks.
Happy as hell to be 3-0 still pissed at how we drafted especially watching Rodgers and seeing who we had to play at MLB last night. Also hate the lack of production from MVS
Rodgers said after the game that they were shading lots of coverage towards MVS. Oddly at this point I am not that concerns with weapons on offense at this point. It's the D line where I think we needed to address more thoroughly in the off-season. But looking back at the draft there weren't really any options there. I haven't seen anything on how Queen is looking at LB but he'd have been the most help on defense.
I don't disagree, they have a bunch of names but they didn't make life that difficult o. Offenses the last two weeks There are like 4 defenses in the league that are "pretty good" week in and week out.
Now, he had time to set his feet and use normal mechanics, so even though unnecessary this is still insane
Aaron Rodgers has completed five (5) passes that traveled 50+ yards in the first three games of 2020, matching his total for the entire 2019 season. https://www.espn.com/blog/green-bay...kers-show-they-cant-tackle-in-win-over-saints Passes attempts 50+ yards in the air (2019): 5 completions on 22 attempts. Passes attempts 50+ yards in the air (2020, 3 games): 5 completions on 7 attempts.
Hey boys. back, alas, in my second form. The thing Rodgers saw on film is 90% feet related. I watched the super bowl win over the offseason and he stepped into every throw he did with an open pocket. He has almost every chance he can this year. Alas, sometimes he ‘can’t’ and his arm is so damn good he still can make the throw. Taking into account his drops, he is well above 70% and would be scratching 75% so far this year (67%). He also completely trust Jones and Williams in the run game. Which means less changes at the line and more things on script (unless he absolutely sees a disadvantage/advantage). Lazard is a poor-man’s Jordy Nelson. He catches almost everything and when he gets moving/on top of you his 6’5” frame runs faster than his 4.6 forty indicates (Jordy was a freakish 4.45 guy). MVS is what he is, but it’s a better version this year compared to last year. The threat of him going deep opens up things for Lazard & Adams to work parts of the field without a safety always shading. Bak & Jenkins, CL are fucking studs and make the left side of our line crazy good. The right side has been pretty fucking solid. That’s good coaching. Lastly, ML builds playcalling is only going to get better. Take this play for example. Jace makes a big play, but there is so much to unpack here. You have the handoff to the jet (which we have seen). From that point you have an easy 5+ yards 1 on 1 with Lazard if Rodgers wants it. If they follow Jace? You got the sweep motion guy (Ervin most of time) in the flat. If the safety comes down to deal with Jace early you leave 1 on 1 with the go route. Jones running to middle of the field opens ALL of this up. That’s a lot for defensive coordinators to think about out of a set we see a lot of ... and they have so many variations of this staple. *chefs kiss Defense - - ugly early in every game - finds its groove (even in saints game, horseshit holding call on Z kept that drive going) - ugly late at times. The one good thing? We are winning and we haven’t created more than 1 turnover a game while getting ok, but not great pass rush. Kenny is obviously the anchor of the defense. Even more apparent the last 2 weeks. Preston Smith & Savage need to step up, both have been disappointing. Z has flashed at times, but too many plays like the 49ers games where he gets washed out in the run game. Gary will be a player, huge leap. Special teams? Been almost as good as offense. *knocks on all the wood* I’m not sure I’ve seen it more buttoned up since I started really following the team (2002ish)
