I keep getting winded and assuming I have Covid before realizing I just haven’t been to the gym in 6 months
I am definitely out of shape from not going to the gym but have never been winded like this. I walked to the mailbox and felt like I had been running suicides. My wife started running during the pandemic and has fared better from that stand point that I have. Her symptoms have also been different so who knows.
I still can’t breath like I did before April. My lungs feel like their exploding with icicles when I sneeze as well.
I was also a heavy smoker and have had bronchitis/pneumonia a lot during that time so it’s not like I was some bastion of health. I have quit but I’m sure the damage is still done. Smoked ecigs for awhile as well.
Not a smoker but this experience has definitely been a wake up call that I need to take better care of myself. I drink too much and tend to burn the candle at both ends working. I had zero gas in the tank when I caught this shit and it has put me on my ass.
Middle child tested negative again. Not even sure how that is possible but he did. He shares a room with his brother who is positive.
Middle child could’ve been asymptomatic and over it now (and possibly the one who introduced it to the fam)
Its possible although we are fairly certain this came from my youngest child's class. Four kids total positive and their parents. My youngest was the last to show symptoms from that group. Middle child hasn't had any reported cases in his class so far.
He took the PCR test not the rapid. Not sure how much that matters but yeah false negative is definitely a good possibility as well. He has been the only one of us with no symptoms which also doesn't necessarily mean anything either. He is our charmed life child so I choose to believe he can't and won't catch this shit while its kicks the rest of our asses
To my knowledge the PCR tests are still showing a 30% false negative rate. I hope that he stays healthy!!!
It’s making me concerned. 1/1M died from the smallpox vaccine. Risk reward balance and the success / safety of what else is out there going to drive a lot of decision making
I skimmed but it seems like masks are more normal and accepted (which is great), that's the whole plan. The masks plus massive testing would've been the key in the February/March when we could've beat this thing.
yup, this is exactly what i meant. if Pfizer/BioNTech or Moderna's are looking really good, 1/8000 risk may not be warranted. I still think AZ vaccine has best chance of generating best and biggest immune response.
Adeno backbone should generate the best Tcell responses and overall strongest immune reponse. Also adeno based vaccines have been around a lot longer than mRNA
Yeah, the mRNA approach was going to need to get a lot right in its first go to be effective. Still hope it comes through but what you say makes sense.
I've heard there's ~60% mask wearing here. If that goes to 95%, tens of thousands of lives could be saved over the next 9 mos. to a year.
Ordered a pizza with no contact delivery with a note that said please leave on front porch. The delivery driver kept knocking on the door even though I was waving him off. Our front door is mostly glass and he could see me. He wouldn't budge so I opened the door and said hey man I have Covid. He leapt of the porch like a damn cobra came out the front door when I said that
I am generally sympathetic to delivery people, especially right now. But given the circumstances, please play close attention to the delivery instructions. It is a health issue. If you can’t figure out a gate code or something, that’s one thing. But just drop the pizza, man.
every delivery service here will put it in front of the door unless you tell them not to. been like that since march i think. i love it.
Their website says they only do contactless delivery to please leave specific instructions. Last week the driver chastised my wife for not answering the door. Didn’t even know about that until I told her about today.
So many times I’ve ordered contactless delivery and this happens. Even after leaving a tip online. I don’t get it
She did and told them not to send that dumbass driver to our house anymore. The guy had to be in his 60’s. She was like sorry I don’t want the driver to catch this shit and die.
That's good. I would feel bad calling about a specific guy but if it was a recurring theme then what can you do. At some point you're protecting them and others. I've had 1 delivery driver bang on the door and we stopped ordering from them. I'm glad it wasn't from a place we like.
We have had other issues with that guy prior to Covid. We don’t have many delivery options where we are so we get to know the drivers pretty well.
I would think under normal circumstances they would be thrilled to just ring the doorbell and leave. This is like the perfect excuse.
