This has to be "old" info, right? We emptied the bench against USF so there's no way the 6 players he referenced could have been active on Saturday.
yeah i just saw the university's announcement on twitter. This is the formal communication of the test results that came out on Saturday morning. Those players are likely all out for Wake as well.
Sampson's tweet seemed to suggest that the 4 who tested positive (vs. those in contact tracing) only have to sit out 10 days, so they could technically play on Saturday but would have to miss practice this week. Other than maybe Clark I doubt ND would even consider that as an option though.
Loy had this to say on the decommit: The fact is, a recruit is planning on de-committing. He’s told them that. Notre Dame is trying to get him to change his mind. Simple as that. I’ll know more today.
Allegedly the staff got mad at him for his antics and told him to leave, offered some other guy and filled the spot and then OU got full and so he wants to come back and is working on it but no one feels like ND is going to go out if it’s way to have a spot for him.
no shit just take the dude, think we are about to see an exodus at LB log jam with little playing time available
makes sense, so 4 more guys out 14 days plus contact tracing coming up. At this rate no way this season can go on much longer
Inevitable but still disappointing. We won't be able to safely field a team at this rate if we continue to lose 2-4 players per week.
This is a stupid question, but how does contact tracing not wipe like pretty much the whole team out? If a Center tests positive and he took just one snap in a practice play doesn't that mean the whole OL, DL, LB, QB, etc. in on that play need to quarantine? I just don't get how 4 players test positive and only like a couple more get quarantined with contact tracing
Believe they are doing daily rapid testing in addition to distancing wherever possible. They must also be taking into account how long players are exposed to one another and nature of exposure (outdoors/indoors). Assume they figure they can limit quarantine with a strict enough protocol balancing the risks.
If we cancel the season right now we will be undefeated in conference play forever. Something to think about. ]
I might have said it here and I doubt a player would be there but bars have been packed with ND students this week. Finnies only let people with student ID in and it was packed. So was CJs. I can see where a player interacts with a positive student.
If we hadn’t had kids out already I’d think this too. USF has a decent med school so I’m guessing they are pretty well tested.
you mean rather than postpone? i was about to give you shit about posting this 30 minutes after the game was postponed, but I realize this seems to indicate we wouldn't reschedule, which would be a bummer
Good thing the SEC and Big 10 are about to start things up. Can't see any of this going further sideways.
