also one of their dbs was ruled academically ineligible. did the tutor forget to write a paper or something?
he speaks like a fucking dumbass. this wasn't a dire "we may or may not have enough kids to field a team" thing, it was more of the existential "hopefully testing continues to go well and we can play" thing but because he's a doofus with no ability to speak properly everyone took it the wrong way from what he was trying to convey. he clarified what he meant later but you know exactly what writers were going to tweet first so here we are.
it's weird that State reporters type that stuff as if State wasn't the reason they didn't play VT in week 1 because they couldn't sort their own shit out.
It would actually be pretty fair. Ideally I'd want to move FSU to the OG members and then add ND and a 16th member to the next gen. ACC Legacy Clemson GT UNC NC State Duke Wake Virginia ACC Next Gen FSU Louisville Virginia Tech Miami Pitt Syracuse Boston College
Miami and FSU in the same division really should be a thing, but it won't. ACC loves it for the potential of it happening twice..
Would like to take this time to announce fsu will be postponing its game against Miami... And ND, Clemson, UNC, and everyone else bust Jax St... and maybe Duke. Also, GT because we are retroactively postponing that one too. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers.
Our game is still in limbo 30 hours before kick lol From our rivals site: This “game week” has been a crazy one for NC State, mainly revolving over whether or not the Wolfpack will actually be playing Virginia Tech on Saturday. It is still not completely in the clear as of this writing of the War Room. There needs to be a really good round of testing Friday, especially on Virginia Tech’s side, for the all-clear. Some thought that the final call may not even come until Saturday morning. Putting the pieces together, it sounds like the Hokies have been hit harder than any ACC program, including NC State which endured its own cluster, and that Virginia Tech’s issues may have been more ongoing rather than a sudden spike. If this were a season opener, or if there were more bye weeks/openings to move games around, there is a decent chance, we’d presume, that this game would be moved. As it is, we have picked up the sense that there is some pressure on Virginia Tech to get started with its season. It is not ideal for them, but if they have the numbers available to play, then at some point ideal takes a backseat a bit. That said, we believe a contest is happening Saturday.
Of course it's still in limbo you dolt, they do testing Mon/Wed/Fri. the game's going to be in limbo until early Saturday morning. just because testing went well Wednesday, which I'm assuming it did since it hasn't been cancelled yet, essentially means nothing because they still have to clear Friday's test. it's bizarre that VT's cancelled one (1) game and apparently the entirety of the ACC season rests on them playing Saturday. maybe if State could have stopped being fuckups a few weeks ago we wouldn't even be having this discussion right now but I guess State cancelling on VT isn't the narrative right now. at this point it's going to be way funnier to me to cancel on State and then somehow cause the total collapse of all the ACC's season.
The game would not be in limbo if the Wednesday results were fine. Literally every bit of news out there right now says Virginia Tech has been hit hard. I don't know why you seem so mad about this.
even if state hadn’t canceled, you wouldn’t have been able to play that game anyway based on when you canceled the uva game.
of course it'd be in limbo, what kind of terrible logic are you using? all passing Monday and Wednesdays tests mean is that you don't cancel the game on Tuesday or Thursday. if they fail today's tests then the game is cancelled regardless. 48 hours is plenty of time for a group to pass tests on Wednesday and then fail them on Friday. UNT just cancelled their game against Houston yesterday because, get this, they failed Wednesday's tests. even if UNT passed Wednesday's tests they'd still need to pass them again on Friday. literally every game is in limbo until Saturday morning with how these tests are given. VT is preparing the field and other things as though the game will still happen so that's about as much concrete info as you can get right now.
technically every game's in limbo until Saturday morning after the last batch of testing, this just seems like the first one that has a legit chance of being called off at the last minute
It’s in limbo because VT has had a rash of positive tests for weeks, not because we’re waiting on today’s results to confirm a continued run of negative ones. No other program that I know of is still up in the air on their game being played tomorrow. Is a postponement or cancelation possible? Of course, it’s 2020. But the State/VT game is clearly more vulnerable for very obvious reasons. Quit taking shit so personally like this is Rivals in 2008.
again, at this point it's just going to be funnier to cancel the game on you and watch your fans bitch and complain because people got fucking sick in a pandemic so they couldn't watch their precious football than it is to actually play the game.
Is there someone in this thread saying we should be playing football regardless of the cost? I haven’t seen that. In fact, I think most of the frustration is that schools, VT in this instance, *are not* keeping their players safe which in turn doesn’t allow football to be played. I guess you’d rather be fake mad to own the libs tho.
Literally every game is in limbo until the final whistle blows because Bane could come and blow up the field underneath the players and the game would be cancelled. You know that they're not reporting "the game is in limbo" the way that every game is in limbo. You conveniently quoted Shiggityshwo 's post without the second half of it. This game is actually in danger of being called off based on the information we have now. If you're making a technical semantic point, you seem awfully mad about it.
I’m not going to defend our shitty covid situation. The reason it is in limbo is not because the tests Wednesday were bad (as in, much worse than prior rounds), but due to the timing of people returning and whether or not we have enough people to field every position group after a Friday test. We are pretty low at several positions and can’t handle select positive tests.
All I know is you won't catch my old ass in no Roanoke All of em, just poof...gone.....shhhhhhhiiiiiiiiii
I like how you think it's fake mad. I hate our fucking dumb football program. I'd rather see a bomb dropped on the stadium and then dump toxic waste on it so we could never build on the rubble. I'd just also like to see everyone else here burn in flames with me. I've had a lifetime of garbage associated with this program, I wish nothing but the same to everyone else here.
Can those of us who went 0-14 against that garbage program be exempted from the college football holocaust
