My wife and I almost bought Zachs sisters house for our first home purchase. That has 0 relevance to anything but just thought I'd share.
I have no idea what that is telling me. You hit it 225 yds off the tee, hit the green with your approach, then 1 putted?
Got some new toys today. Looking forward to flying the greens by 10-15 as I figure out my yardage with these. Tried the MB’s, MC’s, T100’s, Mizuno, and these. These fit my swing the best with control and distance. Final swing with the 7 iron was 208 with -1 off target. Hoping I can get them tuned quickly.
Had a thought... We've seen quite a bit more exhibition golf during Covid. Frankly, I've enjoyed it far more than I expected. That's largely due to the collegial nature of the events, which mostly benefit charity, and the access (mic'd up players, cart cams, etc.) I think the top players are going to be more inclined to participate in such events going forward because it boosts their brand. Content is king these days. Appearance fees and financial ambition are going to give us a bunch of non-PGA TOUR exhibitions that will make for enjoyable viewing for those of us who love this game. As far as Payne's Valley Cup... fun to watch. Tiger is looking more pedestrian each time out. Jack and Gary playing the 19th was a treat. Payne's kid should not have re-teed. The overall look at that course was visually impressive.
didn't care about Payne's kid hitting another one, but the rest I agree with. give me all of the mic'd up exhibitions. I will be there for every single one.
Nice. I’ve been trying to get a group of members at my home course to head up there but can’t get schedules to match up yet.
There is no reason not to have charity exhibition matches every week. It would do more to #GrowTheGame than anything. It would let fans get to know the games best players You could do them at elite courses that can't/won't host tour events It can be a relatively cheap production and you would think be pretty attractive to sponsorship.
Also, Player never misses a chance to remind everyone that he's older than Jack. He's obviously in better shape because of his devotion to fitness (a pioneering approach, actually) and he wants to let us all know that he's gonna be the last man standing of the big three. I was surprised that Jack agreed to play the hole on TV. He's going downhill quickly and to suck it up and make a clean par after Gary talked shit was great. After watching Jack nearly lose his balance when he walked back to stand behind his ball, I think his public golf is done.
Just looked up Payne’s valley, six hours from Omaha. Wonder if I could get a tee time there Monday for a birthday round.
Someone else tweeted it, but Player bitching about conservatism 30 seconds after him mentioning he has traversed the globe on jets for the last 60 years was rich as well.
A couple weeks ago some friends and I were looking at potentially going up this coming weekend but it was going to have to be Sun-Tues because of how booked up everything was. We called and they told us about a special deal where if you play two courses in one day it can be a really solid discount, but PV is not included in that yet. One of them made it to where if you play Ozarks National and then Top of the Rock it’s only an extra $10 over the Ozarks regular fee so that’s a huge discount on the par 3
Don't like that at all. I've only played a couple of Fazio courses, but they were exceptional. Glenwild in Park City and Mirabel in Scottsdale.
ive played a few in sc. they are fine, the comparison is more to the absolute volume he produced and the size of the Cheesecake Factory menu. And people typically don’t juiced up to go play a fazio—-he kind of rode the mass production cookie cutter resort golf course boom of the 80’s and 90’s
The average father of two loves a night out at the Cheesecake Factory. He also very much enjoys a break from his local muni to play a Fazio course once or twice a year if that's where he happens to land.
That makes sense. Haven't played any of his public designs, but the private courses I've been on are beyond legit. MJ had a place at Glenwild. Trying a bit too hard with this one...
Heading back to World Woods this Sunday to play the the Oaks course then booked another round of Pine Barrens in a few weeks. Will probably become my semi home course with their rates low right now. My best friend and I are going to book a golf trip in the spring. I’m leaning Scottsdale. We’re going to make it a yearly tradition so we can try to stay in touch.
