While ep5 was being developed Lucas started sketching out ideas for sequels, saying in an interview with Time (I think) that he envisioned star wars as a perennial series with new movies coming out every few years. Like the circus coming to town, or a roadshow, etc. The idea of a trilogy came about only after Empire, due to Lucas' marriage falling apart and other factors. He decided to wrap everything up as fast as he could. Episode 6 was originally going to be about rescuing Han, nothing more was planned before Lucas decided to end the franchise with the third movie. Episode 7 was about finding Luke's sister, with both him and Vader searching for her, having run ins on the way, etc Episode 8 was about both siblings redeeming their dad Episode 9 was about the skywaloer family coming together to overthrow the emperor. But the later you go in the series the more fluid the ideas and iffy the details. It wasn't long before Lucas just said screw it.
Yeah, not sure I want that. Would rather they do a live action show with some of the characters but I want the movies to break some new ground.
It’s like they’re trying to apply the Disney “live action” remake principle to SW it would fail miserably
Rebels is near enough to the OT to pepper them into Mandalorian without doing a Rebels-specific show. They already brought in Dark Saber and are being Ashoka in next season.
Miniseries with Rosario as Ashoka - her adventures, along the way discovers there’s a Skywalker alive. Idk, I just like the idea of Luke and Ashoka crossing paths.
I could have him confused but I think he’s the same guy who said he never watched the show beyond clips on youtube.
I question your sanity if you believe some cartoon character's story arc is "one of the best" in the entire catalog of Star Wars. Seriously get yourself checked out.
Freddie Prinze Jr's story arc is not even the best out of all the cartoons they have done. I think the Star Wars Christmas movie had more compelling content.
if I was a Rebel leader and knew there was a powerful force user out there somewhere, I probably wouldn’t wait until after Endor to go looking for him. Might have mentioned Missing Guy to the other super powerful Jedi who fell into my lap, maybe had that guy talk to the ass kicking ex-Jedi who also is hanging out with us, idk
Jar Jar has the best story arc. Dude goes from being a bumbling idiot nobody to a bumbling idiot politician.
It's probably the most real world accurate story in the star wars universe like by a country mile though
Would be nice if Disney learns their fucking lesson and just does a new trilogy or just give some good one off stories.
So did this thread die and i just not get the memo that we started a new one or does everyone hate Star Wars now?
It’s just dormant with no new major content I’m sure it’ll pick up a bit with Mandalorian coming back in just over two weeks (!)
But really there’s a Mando specific thread that’s probably been bumped in preparation for it and is there much else to talk about?
