for refence, i opened an account on NYRAbets in June. I've churned over $600k on there and am down $1,400.
right so when i say churn i mean i've placed $600k of total bets and lost like 1400 bucks. so $11m is nothing.
In context of statewide handles, $11m for one book in its opening weekend seems pretty respectable: https://sportshandle.com/new-jersey-sports-betting-record/
this father and soon bookie in dallas were generating over $1 billion a year https://www.dmagazine.com/publicati.../one-billion-dollar-plano-gambling-ring-bust/
That's half of NYRA's all sources handle a year. That book being astronomically huge doesn't mean that $11m from an app its first weekend in existence in a single state is "nothing."
If anybody listened to the Rob Schneider interview with PMT a few weeks ago, it was a real bad interview and Schneider came across as a huge dick. Schneider was on Bert Kreischers podcast this week and he actually brought up the interview to say how bad it was....Big Cat and PFT didn't make him laugh once and he thought they were disappointing. Guy is missing some self-awareness.
Think they were talking about people they've come across that they didn't like. It was a 15 second comment and it went straight into a commercial and was never re-visited.
A good example of how bad the interview was....they were discussing Deuce Bigalow Male Jiggalo and how it grossed like well over $100M and PFT made a joke that was something like "When Deuce Bigalow Male Jiggalo made a hundred million dollars, is that when you realized as humans were fucked?". A normal comedian would roll with that and laugh at the thought that a movie like that was so wildly successful, but Schneider took obvious offense to the joke and did not like it.
Ever since this cringey interjection at 2:00, I’ve always noticed he has an incredibly insecure personality.
I've watched this way too many times. His thumb was twitching and he put up his hand during Norm's big laugh, because 30 seconds earlier he tried to tell a story and was ignored. What a little bitch.
I get that Nardini is smart for leaning into the anti-cancel culture Barstool Against the World shtick, because it's what pays the bills. But with podcast and the outspokenness...it's a very try too hard vibe. Also, this:
Btw - I’m not the biggest fan of Rogan, but every now and then he has interesting guests and cool anecdotes. But Spotify employees threatening to walk out because they want full editorial control of Rogan’s content? I mean has to be one of the pettiest marks I’ve seen in a while. Please, during a recession, threaten to quit your job because you want to post on your Instagram how you work for Spotify and Joe Rogan is racist, and you’re fighting the good fight and please follow me so my account gets verified.
he fell victim to fake news and said antifa started the Oregon fires on his show. Spotify employees want to be able to censor his show so that doesn’t happen again.
Nardini is right. You are right. It's moronic. But her shtick is tiresome. Just be a CEO. No one wants your content, esp when its cringeworthy.
