That missed strike HAS to be the catalyst to #RobotUmps. Had to be one of the most egregious misses in history. These umps have been so damn pathetic this year.
I've never seen national Twitter rally around something like that. That was the most egregiously incorrect call in sports history. Made Don Denkinger look good.
And what extra frustrating is we’ve seen it these past couple days. Mondi could bunt every time and be a .330 hitter. But we’ve been telling him he’s Lindor for the last 8 years so he won’t.
Soooo Matheny is playing for draft position I guess? Why else would you pull the 2 most dominant bullpen arms in the MLB when they have a 3 run lead?
Nice long write up on one of the Rosenthal trade pieces. https://prospects365.com/2020/07/28/edward-olivares-is-imitating-greatness/
I’ll take that for a resurgent old bullpen arm when we won’t contend. Also the two out hitting these last couple innings...go ahead and do that all the time
I've been very pleased with the two trades we have made this week. I always liked Phillips but it is clear he just isn't going to put it all together at the Major League level. Fox looks like he can be our 2B moving forward. To get anything of value for Rosenthal was a big win, but we got someone who can be on the ML roster from the get-go. Nice work DMGM
In his last 20 games, Mondesi is slashing .113/.149/.113 and has struck out in 33.7% of his plate appearances. In Chris Getz's time with the Royals, he slashed .248/.305/.295.
I've never understood pokemon, but hey if he can pitch or maybe even draw a walk once a week I say we sign it up.
I would bet any amount of money that we go on a 3 game winning streak to end the season and end up with the 2nd or 3rd pick. I am more certain of that than death.
So why exactly did Matheny leave him in after he lost the no-hitter? 116 pitches and up by 11 runs. Of course he went and struck out the next batter on 3 pitches but it just seemed dumb to not pull him the moment the no-hitter was lost.
Singer is now getting LHBs out; lefties have an OPS of .667 against him, while righties are at .745. Opposing batters are hitting .167 vs his changeup. I think those are good signs.
He's gonna have TJ surgery at some point anyway like every other Royals pitcher, might as well expedite things and get it out of the way
This is right where 35 and 670 cross downtown. Would think something accident happened on the interstate and he pulled over here normally except he’s been busted pilled out of his mind behind the wheel before.
