My balcony faced the Greenwise Publix off Howard for a couple years. Made for a quick and easy run to refill the beer cooler at the pool. Was talking with some buddies who still live in Tampa. What an awful year for sports to be shut down. Downtown and the watch parties for a deep bolts playoff run were always fun.
Hello old neighbor. I was on the first floor in the Madison right across from Greenwise. and yeah - Stanley Cup playoff run - Wrestle Mania - NCAA tourney - Bucs actually being a good draw
It's really unfortunate. The amount of anticipation all summer just for Bucs camp would've been crazy.
Third floor. Then moved to the other building facing the pool. Plus a Rays playoff run. Fergs by the Trop is always fun during big games.
Had really good seats for Wrestlemania, was a first time Bucs season ticket holder, and would have probably been able to go to multiple Lightning playoff games
We moved to temple terrace when we left Lakeland. It was fine for us, made out pretty well when we sold our house, but if I were to do it again I can’t say that I’d pick TT. I too was driving back to Polk Co for work so it was easy to hop on the interstate.
Just so I have it right, you want to be close-ish to the County Line Rd exit? For work I assume? Would think Brandon/Valrico/Plant City would be your best bet if you don't want to live in Lakeland anymore. You need to be East of I-75/I-4 exchange or at least have a way to circumvent it. Of course if you're single, I would ignore all of that and live as close to downtown/soho as possible.
There's cheap stuff in the area, but you kind of have to get lucky. Not sure what you're looking for, but we were paying $800 for a 2/1 right in Hyde Park. Deals are out there, although I don't know how much the pandemic has affected rentals.
man, not sure how you pulled that off. Everything I’ve seen in that area is like 1400 or higher unless it’s income restrictive or kinda ghetto...
Right place right time. Here's the management company. Ask if the 310 S. Orleans property is going to be available. https://www.bctampaproperties.com/apartments.asp
I think I would have gone south Tampa and just sucked it up with longer commute. TT wasn’t too terrible of an uber to/from south Tampa but that area is very spotty. Off the river and off the golf course could go downhill fast. Best advice I’ve gotten from a realtor was to go to the grocery store closest to the house you’re interested in and people watch. That will be the best representation of who your neighbors are.
have a total of 4 apartments available in their portfolio... all over 1600 except for the Clarice Court which is like close to the west gandy bridge... how long ago did you live here?
Wish I could've been in a bar tonight going crazy for Shattenkirk's ot goal, fuck covid. Was in high school for the first cup, things are looking good for another celebration.
This has been a fun run, just sucks that none of the games are here. My dad has a half season plan and gets all the playoff games so I would've gone to a lot of them. They look like they've been on a mission all playoffs and hopefully they finish the job tonight.
These people are fucking idiots. It probably would've happened in most other cities but just incredibly stupid.
Cooper is connected to me through a few people and has made promises to eventually bring the Cup to a local bar/restaurant when they win. He is a good time.
Friend of mine’s kids go to same school as his and said he is a really nice guy. Wouldn’t know he is a top tier professional coach.
Nope! I would rather just brag. I'll post a pic if it ever happens. But FWIW, the place isn't even in Tampa.
“make sure you dress the kids warm, it’s going to be cold in the morning” - wife I just stood in my driveway and embraced it for 5 minutes.
Going to be cold lol. My 2 year old walked outside and goes "ohhhhhh" with a big smile and the dog just sprinted around in the backyard for 30 minutes in disbelief that it could feel so nice outside.
I posted this in the NHL thread, not sure how many of you keep up in there, or even really care about hockey, but this video is pretty great
date: whenever COVID is over. I’m sure most of the married guys would get a similar reaction from their wives after telling them they’re going to go meet up with a bunch of friends from a message board. you single guys have at it though.
