Just watching the match now. Maybe we should give this Willy guy a shot on Saturday? He doesn’t reek of timid cowardice in goal.

Now time to shift the deadweight and possibly take a run at Rice or another CM.

Kepa isn’t exactly a sympathetic figure but the club needs to do the right thing by him and sit him. Everyone in the football world is piling on this guy, it’s time to get him out of the spotlight.

I mean he should sit because Willy gives the club a better chance to win right now (perhaps wouldn't matter against WBA but point stands).

The ex west ham twitter account that pointed to Mendy happening is now saying that Rice is pressing West Ham to entertain the expected upcoming bid from CFC

where did he say that? I think he said the opposite

this is interesting though and could be a win/win and be a part of the deal as a loan

I would be surprised if Rice moves in this window. We have to offload too much to make it happen, I think, and it's clear we've had trouble selling/loaning some guys that we thought we could. Let him sit at West Ham and have the rumors circulating for six months and I bet it will be easier to get a discount in the winter window or next Summer

sorry, got that backwards. Fabrizio claiming the bid is coming, ex WHU guy basically saying no bid so no push but

Id trust ex Whu Employee on anything west ham or even anything chelsea over fabrizio. Fabrizio is the top guy but team specific insiders generally know more. I think fabrizio probably heard from an agent that he’s “pushing” and that he hasn’t actually pushed or told west ham anything. That can be read to make them both right.

chelsea seem confident about it though which makes me think a push from Declan might come in the future if we can get the money set.

Pulisic and ziyech unavailable for west brom. Frank hoping they are good in the next week or 2. I think frank needs to start Werner at LW, Tammy at the top, mount on RW and havertz at the number 10. 4-2-3-1 with a kante-kovacic pivot

I agree this is our best squad at the moment with the players available but wouldn't be surprised to see something resembling a B+ squad vs West Brom. Try to drum up some interest for the loan candidates.

you don’t do that after already dropping 3 points in the league In your last game. That is a B+ squad. We are still missing ziyech, pulisic and Mendy and chilwell probably isn’t ready for a full 90.

also interestingly because of tottenhams Europa league qualification, they are playing Sunday and then we play them in the league cup next on Tuesday. I’m not sure he can run son and Kane for a full game on 2 days rest like that. Especially Kane. Will be interesting to see what Jose and frank do. I think frank wants the league cup. He feels like it pushed him first title winning team by giving them a taste of silverware and will want to go the same for this team.

That third picture has me giddy. That’s NBA length. Would love to know what his wingspan is. He’s not a finished product but even at his age he’s got room to grow. I’m expecting the odd soft goal but much better command of the box. Won’t see him tomorrow but I’m hoping he plays against Tottenham on Tuesday or palace next weekend.

Do we know what Mendy's wingspan is? I wouldn't be surprised to find out it's a good few inches longer than his height.

Silva with the armband in his debut is impressive and shows what frank thinks. Love the lineup as long as havertz plays centrally. I may have brought in azpi over Alonso at LB but I’ll take it. Lets go get the 3 points!!

Would probably say CHO over Mount at the wing (like Mount but he’s not a wing) but otherwise this is pretty close to perfect.

Has CHO put in a good performance in the last year? I trust the effort that MM plays with personally.

I actually thought he was really good in the second half Wednesday. I get why Frank starts Mount (effort, pressing), and I think he has a place in the team. I just think he tends to drift inside from the ing which clogs things up.

CHO showed better effort in the league cup but he was losing the ball and making bad decisions against a championship relegation fighting team. He’s not starting over mount right now.

I am actually surprised to see Christensen over Zouma. I didn’t see that one on first view. If Zouma is out, I would have expected tomori. Interesting that Christensen gets right back in.

you thought CHO was good? He was running and put in better effort but that’s mounts thing. CHO would rather dribble around 2 players and lose it trying to beat the third than make the easy pass in transition. He’s like willian when it comes to final 3rd decision making over the last year.

edit: I will say that CHO looked better the last 10 min when he moved to LW but Abraham played his way into the lineup and Werner is the LW. Mount over CHO on RW is an easy choice.

Would assume he’s in for passing as I don’t think West Brom will have much of the ball but it’s hard to argue that Zouma (and Fik) aren’t better defenders (particularly if you want to compliment Silva’s lack of pace).

In the second half I did. Again, this is just around the margins. No Kepa is worth more than all these other changes combined.
