The concept of prayer is why Kendrick is a genius. I’m willing to bet going forward that we won’t see another DAMN from Kenny. I think that was him letting everyone know he could make bangers and potential club tracks along with his regular conscience tracks. I bet we’re headed back to the more focused and conceptual stuff that we’re used too. also, I’m very interested to hear if he addresses Mac and Nipsey passing on his next album. Those were big losses for him.
Was listening to Takuya Kuroda(badass trumpet player) and when the album was over, YT Music starting playing similar stuff. This came on, never heard it before. Features Freddie Gibbs.
Streams of Thought vol 4: Monch, Yasiin, KRIT, Tobe, JID, Redman, Fabolous, Currensy, Ross entirely produced by 14KT
I’ve really dove into Currensy since the Harry Fraud joint and he’s quite the guy. I wonder how much he’s influenced by Young Bleed cuz I get that vibe with him a lil
Hah, haven’t thought about Young Bleed in forever. For some reason, this ended up being the theme song at every house party in middle school in my virtually all white suburban hometown.
He was the one No Limit guy I could tolerate back then (enjoy even). The album he released after NL- My Own is actually quite fucking good
One of his lines has always stuck with me “you know a lot of fathers wanna see you with their tight daughters when you slipping and you sliding down the block on ice water”
A lil meh on this Spillage album off jump. I am not meh on JID because he is absolutely incredible and Chance actually has a pretty damn good verse.
Its funky man, not exactly what I was expecting, but also sounds like something I'll love the more I listen to it
Guess that rapper from new music today "Powerbomb him through the dinner table, it sound like a moose hit a Winnebago."
He killed that verse imo. I feel like he's coming into his own as a rapper. I used to think Venus was way better, but not anymore
From a musical/lyrical aspect.. this album has done a fantastic job of capturing the moment wrt what’s going on.
