Fight is going just about as expected. 2015 version of Woodley seems like forever ago. Dude just seems content with being a human punching bag anymore.
Woodley totally done. Same horrible strategy in his last few fights: just back up to the cage, don't throw anything, and get taken down and beat up. Cardio also looking super suspect now. He can't fight these top guys anymore. Colby looked very good. He looks very well-rounded now. Usman II will be another good fight.
No one else can beat Covington, so far anyway. Would love to see Covington vs Burns, Edwards & Masvidal
How could you possibly love Woodley? He is one of the most boring fighters that have ever fought in the UFC and hes a giant baby.
Woodley had some really nice knockouts early in his career. He talked so much shit about how much of a badass he was when he kicked Condit and Condit landed funny on his opposite leg and tore that ACL. Great knockout against Lawler, but ever since then, its been snoozefest after snoozefest.
Can't wait for tomorrow night. If Stylebender can avoid taking too much damage in the first few rounds and takes the fight out into deeper waters he should be able to pull it out. Worried about the power disparity, though.
Yea, I worry about him getting caught early as well. If he gets through the 2nd, maybe even 3rd round, I think he will take it. Costa gonna be back up to 225 by the time he enters the octagon tomorrow
Hate to be that guy but I think Costa has definitely profited from fighting old, big name fighters in the twilights of their careers. His last 3 are against Yoel, Uriah Hall, and Johnny Hendricks (lol). Hard for me to look at him beating those guys + a bunch of nobodies and think “damn not sure if Adesanya can handle that speed and power!” Considering Izzy KO’d Robert Whitaker.
Nah, I agree. That's all valid. I also think Costa being a pressure fighter plays right into Adesanya's counter strikes. I am pulling for Adesanya.
Really think the concerns about Costa’s cardio are overblown. That Romero fight - the punishment he absorbed, and the pace he kept thru 3 rounds was amazing. The 3rd round was his highest strike output and landed total of the entire fight.
