Lately my dreams have been pretty vivid. Vivid enough to consistently wake me up at night. last night I dreamt about a message board for the first time. Not this one but our 247 homeboard. I checked my phone and it had 1000 downvotes, but I didn’t remember posting anything, so it must have been a drunk post. I dreamt I went into work and I was terrified I was going to be fired for whatever the post was. My phone wouldn’t load so I couldn’t check. Everyone at the office was looking at me like I was a dead man walking. The awkwardness was so severe I woke up. Dreams are a pretty fascinating glimpse into the subconscious. Aside from dicks and jizz in jars, what are some vivid dreams y’all have had recently? Or ones you still remember from your past.
Over the past year or so I've had a lot of ramped up Red Dawn style invasion dreams. I'm always on our family land in Arkansas, I have died a few times. Additionally, I had a dream that my mom started a free roaming big cat sanctuary up there and I got mauled. Separately had a dream where she adopted a bear and it started killing her dogs. My mom worked at a vet the past 15 years and brought all sorts of animals home, so this is not THAT far out. Also had one recently where I decided to become a nudist. All my friends were in town and oddly super accepting of my new lifestyle. We went to the local brewery and everyone was kind of ignoring it until one lady freaked out on me an I had to leave.
There’s thunder, but it only happens when it’s raining. The players only love me when they’re playing.
Last night I dreamed that I was dove, flying over the sea. And then I dove into the ocean and I swam with the dolphins. I was two animals joined as one, which meant good things are coming. Good things.
The one I have all the time is I went an entire semester without going to a class and don’t realize it until the final. It’s horrifying. It’s about once a month and I assume I’ll just live with this the right of my life
A few months ago had a legit dream within a dream for the first time in my life. Can't recall the particulars, unfortunately.
Seems like I've been here before Seems so familiar Seems like I'm slipping Into a dream within a dream It's the way you whisper
The last dream I had, which is rare for me, was I got up and my wife had shit in the tub and wouldn’t come clean about it and it pissed me off.
I just had this happen to me this week. Was pretty wild. I can’t really remember the dream within my dream but I remember waking up from it and I was still asleep and really disoriented considering I was expecting to be awake. Then I woke up a second time in the hotel bed I was staying in.
How do you know it wasn’t a dream within a dream within a dream and you’re still in the base layer dream right now?
I will occasionally have a recurring dream where I'm Superman. Yet I can never get my powers to fully work. For example I'll never be able to get off the ground into full flight. Or I can't figure out how to use my heat vision.
A couple nights ago I dreamed that Derek Jacobi wanted to borrow my pickup truck. I don't own one in real life, nor did I in my dream, but he was convinced that I did.
I had a dream that Taques really improved his internet posting but then I noticed it was just another high-quality devine post.
May have done acid a few times in college, always had fucking insane lucid dreams a night or two after. One I remember was in my neighborhood back home, hiding in a house from something that was chasing me. Having to go room to room in what was a Mashup of places I was familiar with to hide. Others were the fucked up dreams where your eyes are open, you can't move as something starts to come into your room
I worked at a national park a while back, I had my own dorm room at was absolutely pitch black at night. Sleep paralysis was a regular occurrence there. I'd dream I was stuck in different parts of the park, but with my eyes open and unable to move. I remember one where I was dreaming about a program I gave, then suddenly my eyes were open and everyone was gone but I was still there in the dark. Fucking weird shit.
Was watching the history channel in college back when it was marginally better than the garbage pile it is now and fell asleep on the couch to something pretty normal. Wake up and apparently there's an alien show on fucking with my dreams but I'm actually awake/asleep in sleep paralysis and was absolutely convinced aliens were fucking with me. Not. tight.
I've had a recurring dream my whole life, as far back as I can remember. It's always more or less the same. In the course of some normal events in my childhood home (still), I realize I can fly-- that it's very simply a matter of will. The first flight is always terrifying, because as I begin to will it and it works, I shoot way up into the sky, and it's incredibly disorienting. Sometimes I wake up here because of the perceived motion. But usually I 'get a sense for it' and can control the height and velocity and so on. By the end, I'm flying through my house with perfect mastery, through doorways, angling into spaces, banking, and often find myself in a public place. School, somewhere near my childhood home, etc. flying, and it's this incredible finesse, a profound liberation, just flying by force of will. The flight isn't in any sense physical; it's like levitation with locomotion. So I can twist my body and move around in all sorts of directions, weaving through trees, ducking through tiny gaps. I'm always profoundly sad when I wake up, terrestrial once again. Edit to add: there's one particular movement that makes me so simply elated that it can almost move me to tears awake thinking about the joy it brings. I'm talking to someone standing on the ground, and I can orbit them-- hanging in mid air, facing in like a tidal lock, and spin around like I'm at the top of a funnel-- at any speed I wish. I can speed up and slow down and lean out of the curve of the elliptic and shoot away or slowly descend 'the funnel' to come near them. Fuck, dreams are good.
The only time I ever have a memorable dream anymore these days is if it involves death. Luckily I have learned the ability to wake up on demand once I realize it's a nightmare.
I had a dream that I had won a Jeopardy episode that I didn't remember taping. I didn't understand how that had happened but I was so happy that I had won and was looking forward to getting some much-needed money. Then I woke up :(
There's one recurring dream I have that I hate. I'm always on the top floors of some huge skyscraper, sometimes the particulars are different, but what's always the same is the skyscraper starts swaying side to side. Each time it sways farther and it's like "is this when it finally topples over?" I somehow feel that stomach dropping feeling as the damn building moves. Dream always ends the same, that bitch collapses and I plummet to my death. I dreamt of my old dog the other night though, so that was nice.
Have these a lot whenever I nap on the couch and fall asleep or roll and end up on my back (not sure why it's usually only when I'm sleeping on my back). Some form of someone standing over me or one time in my old apartment, it was that some random lady came in my apartment and was just helping herself to my things. Woke up convinced that I had been robbed. First time I remember it happening was in my college dorm freshman year. Was sure that someone had come in my room just to mess with me. It's always hard to shake for a few minutes after waking up.
I always have dreams where I trip or jump to catch a ball and jerk myself awake and feel like a real idiot. I also have the dreams where I am about to fail out of college because I haven't been going to class. Been starting to have ones where I'm somewhere in public and i panic because I don't have a mask. So that's nice
I’ve always been an incredibly vivid dreamer. To the point I can remember the false history of my life when I am someone else in a dream. I also lucid dream, which can be a lot of fun, but it’s difficult to hold onto the dream when you realize you’re sleeping. It takes practice. Like holding out your arm which is holding a bucket full of water. At first you drop it quickly, but eventually you can hold it longer and longer.
I used to have nightmares as a kid about ET. All sorts of different scenarios. Terrified me. I found an ET book in a friends garage once and threw it in the trash. Fuck ET.
I used to have a recurring dream where I would lose my retainer.... Last night I dreamed that my cousins kids got stolen and he and I went on a rampage to get them back, and my visuals were straight out of an FPS even though I haven’t played one in about 10 years
I am a huge dreamer, i remember almost all of them. And I dream every night Most of the time I dream about whatever but it often happens in the house I grew up in. Used to dream about being in school all the time, I never went to college so maybe that is something that actually lingers in my mind. I am happy with my life but it’s something i could’ve done and never did. I Dream about me playing hockey but not a lot. I almost never had a dream about my dog until he died and now he shows up almost all the time. And of course I dream about fucking a ton of bitches almost nightly the way I remember the dream is that you try to remember the feeling that woke you up, don’t try to remember the details. A dream is just a feeling you had while sleeping
