If it comes out before the end of this year unless it is mandatory at my work I will wait a little bit to see because a rushed vaccine could be terrifying.
I don't trust anything coming from this government there is no way they could test and acquire all the necessary data they need in that amount of time.
Trump isn’t in there with a lab coat on. But I guess my question is , if you have given the shot to 30,000 people and you have the side effects from that trial, what difference does waiting til February make to you? My thought is you’d either be concerned that the vaccine was formulated too fast or not. long term side effects won’t be known after a little bit.
I want to see people I know and trust look into it, and see what my pharmacy colleagues say about it.
Got my flu shot two weeks ago and I’m waiting on a second screening to see if I can get into the Pfizer Covid trial. I’ve posted on the same message board for a decade; I’m not scared
I'm interested to see how the flu season goes with a lot of people wearing masks. Virtually no one wore a mask out during previous seasons, now there's a lot. Also a lot of office workers still not in offices. Will be something to watch
I think masks may stick around for a lot of the people that are taking the masks seriously. We'll be wearing them through the Spring at least so they'll be pretty normalized by then. It'll hopefully just take a little push by the media to inform people that masks will help a lot during cold+flu season.
I get a flu shot ever year because I’m a responsible adult. Also I work in retail pharmacy. More people are coming in and asking if we have it instead of having to beg people to get it so I can hit my quota.
Got mine without leaving the car a few weeks ago. 10/10 would get stabbed by that cute pharmacy student again.
Got mine last week. Usually don’t because I work from home, am single and live alone, but figured I should change that policy this year
Just whored out my wife and I’s right arm out to the Billinda Gates foundation for $20 in publix gift cards.
Was going to get it today after work but Kroger said I had a 1-1.5 hour wait, so I just went home and scheduled an appointment for 9:30 am tomorrow
getting mine today. Notre Dame is requiring all students to get one this year, which I had never seen before. and all staff and faculty are *strongly* encouraged to get one. they turned the football stadium (which is currently a COVID-19 testing unit) into a flu vaccine blitz zone.
My wife has Lupus and Kidney disease so I’m really hoping that people like her can get first shots(no pun intented) when and/if the Covid vaccines are released.
I’m trying to figure out how these companies are simulating time for these COVID vaccines. Last I saw only one company was considering human challenge for their trial.
Haven’t ever gotten one, but feels like I ought to this year. Only time I’ve ever gotten the flu was H1N1 in 2009, thing knocked me on my ass which wasn’t easy to do to 20 year old me.
I’ve never gotten one, my daughter (17) who has juvenile arthritis got one this year. I get the flu about every 5 years or so, I’m always leery because it seems like they miss the strain all the time. Need to pull the trigger this year....
I’ve gotten the flu shot every year since I got it probably around 8-9 years ago. Had it bad, sidelined for like two weeks and went to the hospital. Fuck dealing with that shit again. Know the flu shot isn’t guaranteed to prevent it but I’m not taking my chances.
Do you need any sort of call ahead with Publix or just show up? Wasn't sure what they were doing with everything else going on
Please do your pharmacist a favor and call a head or if you can make an appt online. Pharmacies are busy as fuck right now and anything you can do to help out would be greatly appreciated. Our working conditions fucking suck and if you can do any thing to make your pharmacy team's life less hectic, please do so. -signed retail pharmacist
