I am not upset with dad rock. I am a dad, after all. I really want more of the first song. Would like if he experimented with other voices. Seems to be a trend this year. The National did it also.
ver much digging the FF, but honestly love everything they've done. Sounds a lot like the musical direction they were going on their last tour especially by the end. Horns on 7 songs, Christopher Bear and Homer Steinweiss (Dap-Kings, Menahan St. Band) add some juice. When I got to Maestranza, I thought ok there's no way this is the normal drummer. Seems like the fastest album so far also. FF is really more of Pecknold's solo project with a touring band. Skyler Skjelset has helped in the past but it's been mainly Robin from the sounds of it. He said they were doing a more collaborative 9 songs next year hopefully
New Sufjan dropped on Redacted. What a week for us dads! Edit: Today feels like Throwback Thursday. Releases by... Will Butler Surfer Blood Bob Mould Thurston Moore The Menzingers Blitzen Trapper Also new stuff from: Sylvan Esso The Hives
Don't have much to add beyond that I've been listening to Shore nonstop the past 2 days while working and it's great.
It looks ridiculous when no one is playing a "real" instrument and all the camera can do is show them punching various buttons
New mr Gnome, with these singles released so far they keep talking about pulling from the "light side" or the "dark side" of this double lp, really hope they mean that literally and each lp has a different vibe First one from the "Dark Side" so far - Golden Daze
this new soofjan is great. I was probably in the minority but I always wanted him to do another age of adz-ish album
I just went back to Fleet Foxes after taking a day off and listening to Sufjan. It is so good. It feels so much more accessible than his last album.
Richard Edwards released a new acoustic version of Broadripple is Burning, and it’s so, so, so, so good. One of my favorite Margot songs.
For me I think the new Idles is 10/10. War, Reigns and Danke do it for me. Also hope Cornelius Suttree is thriving with 8 J’s somewhere someplace.
The War on Drugs released a song "Pain" from their upcoming live album and it sounds great. I can't wait for it, they seem like they'd be great live.
I've had the pleasure of seeing them several times. Always a good show. The lead singer is very passionate, dances all crazy, and is just weird overall. It's great.
I got into them a few years ago and the only time they've been here I was out of town. I won't miss them again.
