Middle child most likely has it but tested negative for a third time. Has most of the symptoms and looks like shit.
My friend posted this as a way to say coronavorus isn’t deadly while simultaneously talking about fake news. This makes me so fucking mad, they try to pass this off as a ratio and have the % at the end- 99% of Fox News watchers would see this and thing it actually kills .054% Over 70, when in reality it’s 5.4%. This should literally be criminal it’s so fucking aggravating
by having the % at the end they aren’t trying anything. That’s just factually incorrect. No one should be surprised that Fox News is passing off fake news about this virus though. Propaganda from Facebook and Fox News added thousands and thousands of unnecessary deaths.
putting the cut off at 70 for a reason, too. It's around 20% for 80+ I believe. And then 50-69... 50-60 vs. 60-70 very different, too.
And, again, nobody really knows what the long term holds for those who have "recovered" but there's a not insignificant number of people whose experiences suggest it can be bad.
Despite lots of states seeing an increase in the number of cases, Georgia has still seen a steady decrease. The percent positive average dropped, then rebounded a bit, and dropped again. The rt number is 0.86 according to rt.live. I'm not sure if the huge surge we saw, due to being one of the first states to "reopen," got a lot of inevitable infections out of the way early and the rest of the population is properly taking precautions or what. All that being said we're still 5th in the county in terms of case numbers so it's not like we handled it well at any point.
I wonder how much of the downturn has to do with Atlanta enforcing masks, distancing, etc. Fulton and DeKalb counties have plummeted in case counts since Kemp decided not to sue.
Georgia just expressing their admiration for the state of Virginia. Don’t know how they’re going to get the eastern shore on there though.
Is it true that 5.4% of 70+ die? .5% of 60-69? I guess I thought when they add the % at the end it means they've already made the decimal adjustments.
I assume these are better numbers than Sweden. I wonder why conservatives aren't highlighting their response.
Yes they can. I think severity of second cases is still up in the air but from what I’ve read could depend on immune response in first infection. However I’m not an expert pperc what have you seen on this?
There's very few places actually enforcing mask usage from my experience, although I haven't been to downtown or mid-town in a while now. The only change was that counties can now issue a mandate but the business has to agree to it.
Georgia health officials have decided to withhold information about coronavirus infections at each school, saying the public has no legal right to information about outbreaks that the state is investigating. https://www.ajc.com/education/georg...ounts-from-public/MSVEFPYMIJAMDO4TRMVPR2SWUE/ Nice work Georgia!!!
They screwed up the graphic by not moving the decimal 2 places on every number. I'll leave it to others to speculate whether there was intent. Look at the comments and do the math from 100%.
They have these kind of "accidents" all the time. More people believe the lie because the retraction happens at the end of some broadcast days or weeks later
I think the more likely explanation is they’re all fucking morons and don’t know how percentages/decimals work
I used to think campaign financing was the greatest threat to democracy and American longevity(it already has killed democracy in the US), but it really is the unregulated social media model. It's a double tap to the head.
I went to Capital Grille for dinner last night and they handled Covid really well. I figured with Phase 3 it'd be a free for all, but everyone was masked up until you got to your seat. They also had tables of people spaced out really well. You still can't order a beer at the bar though.
Did you read the part about tripled in the last three days? And NYC has a metro of 20M. I don’t think they want to risk another round like they had so put the threshold low. They are piled on top of each other and 100k people infected is a contact tracing nightmare.
I don't know how NYC expected they could re-open schools and keep the positivity rate that low though.
Right, anywhere you open things up, the positivity rate is going to go up. I was commenting that 3% seemed really low, I was under the impression that medical professionals had a higher rate as the target.
I'm sure considering their density you have to get way out in front of a potential outbreak and that's why the number is 3%
Yeah. Montreal and Quebec City are shutting back down for 28 days beginning Thursday, and our positivity rate is hovering between 2.5% and 3%. Goal is slow down the curve, and allow for more manageable contact tracing to get things back under control. Schools are remaining open, bars/restaurants/theaters/libraries/etc. all shutting down. People are not allowed to invite others at home, unless you live by yourself, then you can have one guest over.
Not surprised, everyone down there thinks the virus is fake news and once the election is over with so will Covid season.
posted about a 28 year old teacher in my district dying couple of weeks ago. her mom died the other day from covid :(
He was a great guy. Posted on Woopig for years and had a relative working for the previous staff if I am not mistaken. He was as big of a Hog fan as I ever knew. He had been struggling but he seemed to be getting better yesterday. Sucks.
