Stats tell a different story but outside of like a 5 minute stretch I didn’t like the Lightning’s period. Maybe it’s just me being tough on them but I thought they looked jittery, puck management wasn’t great. On that PK guys were out of position and gave Dallas good looks. Thankfully Dallas wasn’t sharp either.
Coming into tonight, Kucherov played 320 minutes in the playoffs with Point. When separated, Kuch has a CF of 57.63. Point without Kucherov is 47.47. That’s wild.
in my opinion the best player has clearly been Hedman but I know a lot of that isn’t showing up on your basic stat sheet.
For the record, a 57% CF is elite. 47% is average. So basically, Kucherov is driving play with basically anyone lucky enough to play with him, while Point is playing closer to average away from Kucherov.
I wouldn’t argue with Hedman. He’s playing huge minutes at a very high level. Kucherov is literally driving play 30 seconds of a 40 second shift, and as a winger at that. The stats are just a byproduct of how dominate he has been.
no because the Lightning are clearly still a superior team as shown throughout the season and postseason Unlike when the NBA giftwrapped a title to a mediocre franchise so they could develop another “superstar” to market up
Dallas needs to get their trade mark lucky garbage goal pretty soon here or Tampa is going to cruise in the third
how many minutes is that? I don’t think he’s played that much without him. When he has, it’s likely been double shifts with maroon and paquette on the 4th line when we were playing 11/7.
It’s about 60 minutes of total time without Point. What’s nuts is every player who’s played with Kucherov even a second this postseason has a positive shot differential. The exception is Coburn, who is 0.
Lightning are just smothering the Stars, looked much sharper in the second period. Also the way Johnson is playing it’s not out of the question he could pull a Stefan if the goalie is pulled, JFC he can’t find the back of the net.
Doc just went an entire two minutes without saying who had the puck except for the two brief times Perry had it behind the net
NHL coaches are way too conservative. Can’t believe they didn’t pull the goalie there. Wasted their PP
Dallas now dominating with the extra man, smart they didn’t do this with 4 mins left and would have had a 6 on 4
